Jessica Simpson’s Blonde Ambition is turning into a disaster. The film isn’t even complete yet and Jessica’s manager / father has already pushed the release back from August 3 to the last week of August because he doesn’t like the competition. Basically, Joe Simpson is telling us this movie will mark the end of Jessica’s short lived movie career.

“Jessica was not very focused on-set and flubbed her lines often. She always had her dog around, was on the phone with [then-] boyfriend John Mayer or was sitting in a warmed-up SUV.”

Other releases the week of August 3 include: The Bourne Ultimatum, El Cantante and Bratz: The Movie. The first two are action and drama. I have no clue what genre Bratz: The Movie is — action, comedy, crap? — but rest assured Joe Simpson doesn’t want to go up against a movie about dolls. And he definitely doesn’t want to go up against Underdog, a story about a “superheroic pooch who speaks in rhyme.” If you thought I made the last one up, you’d be wrong.

I’ve been dying to get a dog for more than a year. Unfortunately, my girlfriend has vetoed that proposition. This means I’m constantly wondering about all the cool things I would be able to do if we had a canine in the house.

For instance, think of all the awesome stuff you can buy for pets. I’m not talking about little doggy sweaters (I’m not a total geek), I mean the stylish little gadgets and gizmos that — thanks to the wonders of modern technology — can now be part of dog ownership.

Wired has compiled a very thorough list of all the random bits of electronic stuff that you can purchase for your pooch, but my favorites are: the doggy cam (a cam that you attach to your pet’s collar, so you can see what they see), Doggles (goggles with 100% UV protection), ISeePet (an auto-feeder with a built-in webcam), and the doggy cell phone (which not only lets you find your pet via GPS tracking, but also lets you speak to Fido while he barks back).

OK, maybe these aren’t the most important reasons to get a pet, but it certainly makes dog ownership that much more enticing.

Honestly, I don’t understand the point of video games that make you do things that are way more enjoyable outside the virtual realm. Take for example, the task of taking the dog out for a walk. This may be the only time some you actually get out of the house to breathe  some fresh air, meet the neighbors, and even meet a local hottie at the park. But in Japan, this practical chore has become an arcade game complete with fake dog on a leash. This virtual dog-walking game consists of you walking on a treadmill while holding your dog’s leash. It’s all about control. Walk too fast, your doggy gets tired. Too slow, and he gets bored. The real challenge comes when cars and dogs come out of nowhere to threaten your pooch. Either you move out of the way, or your doggie dies. Ouch!

Tokyo Mango says this game was the "the most challenging arcade game" they ever played. I’d like to play it, but it would totally be a one, maybe two, time thing.

I got a headache the minute I laid eyes on the Kate bag from Vivienne Westwood. The multi chains dripping down the bag and on the handles, the UFO charm, the leather heart toggle, and the busy motif on the bag itself is too much even for Westwood. Known for her theatric brilliance on runways and off, I’ve always enjoyed her quirkiness but this bag is unforgivable. I imagine it is a reflection of her mind, full of fantastical ideas and artistic impressions which work on canvas but not on a bag. Take off the charms and multi chains and you have an interesting interpretation of the classic Chanel bag but still not something that would ever be seen on my arm. $895 at Net-a-Porter.

Pink has been left devastated after her pet bulldog drowned in her swimming pool.

The singer found her beloved pooch Elvis lifelessly floating in the pool when she returned to her Los Angeles mansion after going out for an hour.

Pink – who shares the home with her motocross racer husband Carey Hart – desperately tried to revive her pet but it was too late.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: "Elvis was like a child to Pink and Carey. She is completely devastated."

Elvis was given to the 27-year-old singer by her close friend Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of late rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis.

It is believed the dog would often swim in the pool and had never got into any difficulty before.

Elvis has left the building, yall!
