Many people want to work at their business. It could be businesses they run from their household or one other from an office. They want to make progress, make new things happen and make a profit. The average person has so many ideas that they cannot accomplish them all in one day. But many good ideas produce good businesses. There seems to be one problem that is common among all of them – the need to get motivated. Motivation is the energy and push behind what makes people work their best. How do I get started is what many people ask? There are old saying that says “just do it,” or “go for it.” These work for some but not all. There are a few underlying forces that drive many people to get motivated.

Eavesdropping on a conversation between young women at Starbucks can yield some interesting tidbits on our culture. You can get sex tips, learn about antidepressants and try and decode men. One thing that you most likely won’t hear about is money. Even between the best of friends; salary, credit card debt, and account balances are taboo topics.
Why?
Growing up, whenever I’d ask my grandparents about money they’d say that talking about money is rude, and that is a social concept validated everywhere. Even women’s magazines often don’t touch the subject.

This is to all who have yet to realize how much your thinking determines your destiny.
I truly believe that where you are mentally has everything to do with where you are in life. That in turn has everything to do with the decisions you’ve made up to this point.
These decisions may have been influenced by family and friends. Other decisions where made based on money and maybe education. Things happen throughout our lives and we make adjustments to get pass them. Sometimes those adjustments last longer than planned.

As New York fashion week continues to roll out with beautiful thousand dollar dresses making their debuts on the runway, The Budget Fashionista Party I attended on Tuesday evening was a breath of fresh air… not to mention reality. The party was held in conjunction with the non profit organization, Housing Works, which provides services to Homeless New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.
