I Finally Found Use For Cetaphil!

Cetaphil has worked wonders for my friends, and is hailed by my best bud as her Holy Grail facial cleanser. It’s really mild, dermatologist recommended, and is even used by most dermatologists when they cleanse their patients’ faces prior to acne surgery.

But with my oily and acne-prone skin, Cetaphil just won’t do the trick. I needed something stronger that would cleanse off the dirt from my face, and being gentle at the same time. I heart my Nu Skin Pure Cleansing Gel with all my heart, but the enigma of how Cetaphil worked never really left me.

Until now. I was advised by a friend to use it as makeup remover to remove mineral makeup, because the heavy-duty brands that I’m using now really stay put, and won’t come off easily. I used it once on me and it really removed makeup! With two applications, makeup was off my face I love it!

I’m finally happy I finally found a reason to use Cetaphil! Whee! But right now, I bought Kate Jones Mild Cleanser, that looks and works like Cetaphil, for my byebye makeup needs. My Cetaphil’s still here, and I shall be using it once in a while. All’s well that ends well!

Mineral Blush Won’t Stay?

I have been receiving alot of feedbacks about mineral blushes not being able to stay long on oily skin. I mean, as much as alot of people want to wear mineral makeup from primer to finishing powder, one noted hindrance is the inability of blush to stay on very oily skin.

Even I have that problem. That still doesn’t stop me from applying mineral blush since I’ve permanently said goodbye to non-mineral makeup months ago, and mineral blushes are the most beautiful thing that you’d ever see on your cheeks! The way that I do it is that I apply a huge amount of blush – yes, almost clownlike, then it dews up and fades in 15 minutes, and when I check myself at the mirror an hour later, I see my blush blending with well with my foundation, like a natural flush. It doesn’t sound like fun because I always want to see myself perfect before going out, but at least, I get the blush to stay. Sometimes, during unlucky days, I look like I don’t have any blush- and it’s not a brand thing. Almost every brand I’ve tried is just like that. Sad.

Two of my friends from my forum gave me advise on how to make mineral makeup stay, and lemme share to you some of their application techniques :

1. Upon application of mineral blush, get a damp sponge, and dab lightly on the area where blush is applied. This would sort of “seal” the blush there and help it in staying put. A friend of mine’s actually very funny, told me that it would stay there for 10 years! Haha!

2. Swirl, tap, spritz, and apply blush ! Yes, you can apply blush using a wet brush. But do blend in a jiffy because it is almost like liquid blush that you need to blend evenly on the skin. Too much would make you look utterly sunburned.

Well, these are some of the tips for a longer-staying mineral blush for that pretty flush on your cheeks! If you’ve got any creative or personal techniques that you think might help our readers, please do email me, or post a feedback!

The Beautynomist’s Resolutions for the New Year!

Hi everyone! Now that it’s the end of the year, and we’re saying hello to a new, and wonderful year, alot of things excite me!

I know, this year has been a blast! First, I was given a chance to blog about my thoughts on beauty, and reviews on various cosmetics and beauty products, and I also got to meet alot of people, co-beauty bloggers whom I adore for their kindness, as well as my readers who email me to ask for advise. It has never been so fulfilling to write about one’s thoughts and share them to the world.

Of course, writing wouldn’t be okay, if you don’t love what your writing. My favorite subject happened to be Beauty and Economics, boy o boy, I definitely maximized my utility! Whoopee!!

Thank you for all the companies who have emailed me for product reviews, thank you for my co-bloggers for brainstorming with me on which products worked for them or not, and thank you for friends who have always been there for me!

So many things to be grateful for, and so many things to look forward this 2007!

Okay, my resolutions? here they are!

1. Make my skin as perfect as possible – try to religiously go to the dermatologist until my skin clears up.
2. Faithfully stick to mineral makeup – I love mineral makeup to pieces! ( That explains my other blog! ) Mineral makeup is skin care makeup, so it would be a stepping stone for perfect skin.
3. Collect kabuki’s – boy oh boy am I addicted to such cute brushes! They are perfect for my mineral makeup application.
4. Focus on body care as well – since I have neglected this a little , I want to try to apply lotion once in a while until I feel like religiously applying it!
5. Try to sport a new hairdo. – Perms? more layers? bangs? Well, I don’t know, when I feel adventurous, I’ll dare to change my ‘do!

6. Get the MAC Holiday Brush Set next year! – I’m so all regrets for not being able to get it this year – I swear to get it next year!
7. Love myself a lil more – There’s no such thing as loving oneself too much right? Haha! So..I’m pampering myself to the nth power next year! I’ll try to tone down stress, and exercise! and of course, sleep early!
6. Try to help someone via makeover – This is my charity and help to the world!

What are your New Year’s Resolutions? I hope they include beautifying yourself more and more and more! But remember, real beauty is found inside the heart! So keep your hearts pure, and your faces clear!

Aromaleigh Luminesce Divine Finishing Powder

Aromaleigh has done it again. It attempted to replicate the beautiful, glowy effect of bismuth, which is avoided by some because of the irritating effects, without actually using bismuth in the ingredients of their product! I am very very curious about this! Nothing beats a subtle, ethereal glow during night time! This is definitely a must-try!

Here’s Aromaleigh’s press release about their new product, Luminesce Divine Finishing Powder.

A unique blend of natural minerals provides the finishing touch by giving your skin a radiant kiss of light. The silky, translucent formula transforms your complexion revealing “Your Skin… Only Better…”™

Hilton Head Island, SC (PRWEB) November 9, 2006 — A unique blend of natural minerals provides the finishing touch by giving your skin a radiant kiss of light. The silky, translucent formula transforms your complexion revealing “Your Skin… Only Better…”™

Aromaleigh Mineral Cosmetics accomplishes this much sought-after look without the commonly-used ingredient Bismuth Oxychloride. “Luminesce Divine” is the glorious finishing touch for Aromaleigh Mineral Cosmetic’s matte mineral foundation powders, Voilé and Glissade. The tiniest amount, delicately whisked over your face after foundation application will leave your face lit from within and kissed by an angel.
