Sometimes, spending an hour in front of the mirror can be too much time, especially when you live a busy life and are shuffling children around. So, below, I am going to give you 13 tips on how to glam up in under 15 minutes. Trust me, I have mastered these tips by now!

13. Invest in some makeup brushes

One way to shave off some seconds especially when applying makeup for work would be to use the right makeup brushes. And no, I don’t mean those little throwaway brushes that come with eyeshadow, blush, etc. They are to small to do you any good. By using the right brushes, applying makeup will be quick, easy and much more precise.

12. Wear red on Friday

If you are trying to debate on what to wear, then try wearing red on Friday, every Friday, blue on Mondays, black on Wednesdays, so on and so forth. This will eliminate some of the clothes from your list and will make your decision easier. I know it sounds silly but you’ll be surprised at how well it works!

11. What color are the dark circles of your eyes?

If your dark circles are gray, then apply a soft pink eye shadow before you put foundation on. If they are more of a blue hue, then use a light peach color first. This will help you in making your decisions.

10. The concealer should be a shade lighter

The concealer that you are applying to your face needs to be one shade lighter than the foundation you are using. Just dot the concealer over any blemishes you may have as well as those under-eye circles. After this, blend it in with a makeup sponge.

9. What foundation to choose

For that natural look, you will need to choose foundation that matches the tone of your skin. Over the center part of your face, apply it in dots and then blend it with a makeup sponge until it has covered your whole face.

8. Use pressed powder

Pressed powder can be used in order to keep the foundation on for a longer period of time. You can also use it to touch up your face when you are not at home.

Smokey eye videos helped me out. For so long, I tried to get that smokey eye look and couldn’t quite seem to get it right. Then, I looked into some tutorials. Did you know that you can go to Youtube to learn how to do practically anything? It’s a very useful site. On Youtube, there are many smokey eye videos, so it was hard to pick just 7 of them. My Comment: I think she has a good amount of experience at putting makeup on and she seems pretty camera friendly. She does use only MAC makeup and so far has not recommended anything else other than MAC, which can be hard for some to get a hold of.

My comment: With this one, she tells us that she is not sure if you can put makeup on your waterline and I’m not really sure either. I personally do it, so yes, you should look into it before you do so. I like how she applies the eye shadow to her eyes and she has made a pretty good tutorial.

I would have agreed that it’s impossible to find a shade of blush that suits practically everyone. But then I came across the NARS Orgasm blush and I had to change my mind!

I have been eyeing this one for a while and my aunt (God bless her soul) finally gifted it to me just the other day and I can’t get over it! Infact, I rarely wear a lot of makeup but for the past two days, I haven’t gone anywhere without this on. It’s great and natural looking for the day (you can wear it to work too) with just the right amount of glow and it can just as easily be worn at night. Honestly I’m not very makeup friendly except for the occasional eyeliner or when my gay best friend needs a specimen to experiment on.  So either the product has to be really great or I have to be really sleepy to be this excited by makeup! I promise you it’s the first…

So this delicious palette by Dior contains a full size blush, two eyeshadows, a lipgloss, one cheek brush and one lip and eye applicator.  The colors are lovely, neutral colors that would suit most skintones. It has a 4.6 out of 5 rating on Sephora so I imagine most customers are very content with it. And I can see why…this is the perfect answer to all your travel/”I’m running late” makeup woes. I just wish it included an eyeliner and a mascara. That would really complete it. The price may seem a wee bit steep but with makeup I think it’s best to make a good investment. And with Dior, you can be rest assured that it’s worth every shiny penny….

Don’t be fooled, though… Smooth Hold is not sticky like a gloss at all. It’s creamy, not drying, and lasts and lasts.

12. Keep Them Clean

First of all, it goes without saying that you should keep your skin clean. Do you know how important it is for you to keep your skin clean? By doing this, you will be minimizing the appearance of those pores on your skin. When you have excess dirt and oil in your pores, you will make them appear much larger.

11. Wash Your Face Twice a Day

I recommend you washing your face at least two times a day. This will involve you washing your face once in the morning, then once before you go to bed at night. There are a number of different products that you can use in order to reduce those pores on your face.

10. Never Go to Sleep Wearing Makeup

It just goes without saying that you should never go to sleep at night with your makeup on. There are plenty of makeup removers out there. Makeup removers are affordable for everyone, depending on the brand you choose. When you go to sleep at night with your makeup on, you are doing a lot of harm to your face.

9. Exfoliate

Girls, exfoliation is the key. I recommend you exfoliating your skin at least one to two times each week. There are a great amount of facial scrubs out there that you will be able to purchase. Those facial scrubs will go that extra mile in getting rid of that extra oil and dirt on your face. You should make sure you get something that is gentle on your skin.

8. Use Face Masks

Many girls use a face mask in order to help tighten their skin. You will find that a face mask does wonders. However, I do not recommend you using these more than once a week. If you use them more than once a week, they could do the opposite effect and make your skin too dry.

7. Try Pore Strips

Have you ever thought about pore strips. These are strips that you will be able to put across your nose. You will be surprised at the extra dirt that hides in that area. When you pull the strip off, you will be surprised at how much you see on it. Take note that many of the strips recommend you leaving them on for ten minutes. The great news is that you are going to look better immediately.

Do you watch award shows solely to learn who wins what award? I have to admit that knowing who takes home the trophy is only about 20% of the reason why I watch award shows. The other 20% is to see the opening number while the rest is to see which stars looked great in their designer gowns and envy-inducing shoes. Here are some favorites of some bloggers I frequent.

1. Debra Messing

Debra Wore a red Michael Kors gown. She looked really classy and sophisticated. Her hair and makeup were impeccably done, too. Now compared to another red-clad celebrity, Debra really looked like royalty.

2. Mila Kunis

I have a slight bias for tulle skirts and anything that has Monique Lhuillier’s name on it. Here is Mila looking ravishing in a plum Monique Lhuillier gown with matching sky-high heels. Her hair and makeup were great, too. She finished the look with simple silver accessories.

3. Kate Walsh

Cool and chic. Sophisticated but low maintenance. Kate Walsh’s look embodies all of those  and more. She wore a J. Mendel gown with Louboutins. The low maintenance part come from her Aldo bag and Suave hair styling products. Amazing, huh? And may I just say that I love her body.

4. January Jones

I envy her name and I envy the fact that she’s part of one of the most amazing TV shows today. I guess I will add “looking great in a Versace gown” to that list. January wore a constructed Versace gown. It looks like the gown was made especially for her. Of course, Christina Hendricks looked beautiful as well.

5. John Hamm, Heidi Klum, and More

While John Hamm did not look as dashing as Don Draper always does, he still looked great during the Emmy awards. Among the men, Seal and Kevin Bacon looked noteworthy. In this list, Debra Messing is given more well-deserved love. Also included are Heidi Klum (looks great with OR without a baby bump), Sandra Oh, Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

I always had this great fascination with Super Models of the 90-s and guess what I’ve got for you today?  Yep, the pictures of the gorgeous Amber Valletta, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and other 90-s Goddesses all going naturel!

The only tricky thing is, these beauties are said to be wearing no makeup in the pictures.

But I am pretty sure Nadia, Helena and Cindy (however fabulous they are) do wear some mascara and maybe some foundation in the pics.
