Don’t be fooled, though… Smooth Hold is not sticky like a gloss at all. It’s creamy, not drying, and lasts and lasts.

1. Thin lips …

If you have thin lips it’s better to avoid dark and bright colors and settle for softer, natural sheer ones. Start with outlining your lips with a lip pencil that’s close to the natural color of your lips and then fill them in with light pink or light coral or beige lipgloss. A friend of mine who has thin lips often uses Lip Plumping glosses that make her lips look so much fuller.

Life is a runway and are you runway ready? Over the years I have learned many tips from the pros and I have the ones that actually work.

First comes first… Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize! During the day, use one with SPF; at night, no SPF. SPF can clog your pores so do not sleep in it! Makes sense right?

When applying your daily moisturizer, apply it all over the face and neck but not your eyes. Eyes call for their own moisturizer, an eye cream. The skin around the eye is way more thin and tender so give it what it needs and deserves. Moisturizer quenches your skin’s thirst so your skin won’t absorb your makeup, therefore it lasts longer. It also allows you to apply your makeup even and avoid makeup blotchiness.

After apply the moisturizers, its now time to create a blank canvas. A painter always begins with a blank canvas correct? Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is an amazing product!! It’s great for any age. It fills in fine lines and wrinkles and leaves the skin so smooth. Once you use this product, you will not be able to live without it and that’s a guarantee.

Now on the eyelid, use either foundation, concealer, a makeup eye cream (I love Revlon Eye Glide)…whatever you choose and this keeps the eye shadow from creasing. After applying it, be sure to let it dry.

Now, on to the lips…Remember if you’re going for a smoky or some kind of dramatic eye, down play the lips. You do not want to look like a clown. You need to pick one not both. If you’re using a red lipstick or a very commanding lipstick, make the eyes a neutral color.

Eyebrows are often ignored and they are one of the most important things you can do. Your eyebrows frame your face. Smashbox Brow Tech is to die for, no joke. If you do not believe me, go to QVC.com and watch the videos on it. It’s amazing.

Women kill me who do not do this… CURL YOUR EYELASHES! Why would someone not do this? It lifts your eye and makes you look so much more awake. I’m a firm believer in cheap eyelash curlers. I’ve bought a $30 eyelash curler thinking this has to work. Oh no, it doesn’t. It was horrible. I’ve bought other ones ranging from $15-$23. Those brands will remain nameless. Revlon eyelash curlers are one of the bests out there. Also, if you have a Big Lots store in your area, they sell 99 cent eyelash curlers that I actually prefer over Revlon. I get compliments all the time on my eyelashes. Use a blow-dryer to heat up your eyelash curler. You won’t believe the difference. If you think I’m crazy, think about this…When we want to curl our hair, we use a hot curling iron. We wouldn’t use a curling iron and not turn it on, right??

I love lip gloss. I hardly ever wear lipstick anymore because there are so many gloss alternatives now that wear just as long as lipstick. Glosses tend to help keep my dry lips hold moisture better, so I have chapped lips less often. I also like the sheerness of gloss. Getting hint of color is just right for me, as opposed to the less subtle pigments of lip stick. What’s the downside? After snuggling with my cat her fur tends to stick more to the gloss than the lipstick. A small price to pay for the attractive benefits of lip gloss.

We’ve all seen the new Fall Palettes. They’re full of super dark, seductive colors, which look stunning on models and celebrities but can the average Beauty Maven pull the look off? Here are some tips to getting the dark, vampy lip look without looking like Marilyn Manson.

Add shine to update the look from the dark, matte lips of the 90’s. Define your lips with a deep black cherry shade like Wicked Lovely Lip Pencil in Tempt. Loosely line your lips and fill them in with the pencil to create a long lasting base color. Top it with a sheer black cherry glossy shade like Wicked Lovely Lip Gloss in Sultry to complete the whole lip look nicely. Finish with bronzer on your cheeks – the last thing you want with dark lips is pale skin. Try YSL Rouge Pur Lipstick in Purple Velvet and Dior Creme de Gloss in Delicious Plum for a more wine stained look.

If you’re more adventurous try going super goth-glam with a black lip. A good way to try on the trend is with a lower-pigment black lipgloss, such as Lancome’s Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black, which will be debuting in November. The current issue of Vogue is 798 pages.

If you tried to fly with it, American Airlines would probably charge you an excess baggage fee.

An issue that long is significant for several reasons — especially for refuting anyone who says that haute couture is frivolous or meaningless.

The costs to print and mail a 798-magazine are astounding. An issue that long is only possible because Vogue sold so many ads. It proves that the fashion industry is indeed healthy – and a significant contributor to the economy. I know everyone has a computer, but when’s the last time PC World was 798 pages?

It also proves the buying power of women, at least some of us. (I could never spend the equivalent of three car payments on a single pair of shoes, although one pair of ADORABLE Christian Louboutin slingbacks made me consider selling my body to raise enough cash.)

Moreover, the ads reinforce the grip fashion has on so many of us. When I was 12, I used to cut out particularly beautiful ads from my mother’s fashion magazines, slip them into protective plastic sheets, and store them in a three-ring binder meant for school.

I didn’t just look at the ads. I revered them. They showed me the magnificence of femininity. Lips perfectly made up. Breathtaking gowns. Dreamlike poses. Hair that shimmered.

At 12, the ads held me spellbound.

They still do, even though I don’t have the notebook anymore.

I know some of the models are dangerously underfed, there is lipstick now that makes your lips look laminated, and heel heights are impossibly high. But fashion pushes limits. Fashion challenges the norm. Fashion is endlessly exciting, and the ads are the link between us and the designers who make it that way.

Does your lip balm has enough SPF to keep your lips youthful and luscious?

If you use a Chopstick with 8 SPF or 5 SPF it’s hardly enough…

Professionals say that anything less than 30 SPF is very questionable even if you live up North.

After months of searching and trying, I found the lip balm that actually has enough protection to keep the free radicals away from my lips and that actually works for me!

It’s Shiseido Sun Protection Lip Treatment SPF 36 PA++

As it’s not a cheap product ($19.00 on Sephora), so I though you might want to know how this lip balm performs before you actually spend your money.

Shiseido Sun Protection Lip Balm PROS:

- it smells good

- it looks very stylish

- it has an SPF 36++ (which is pretty much all protection your lips need)

Shiseido Sun Protection Lip Balm CONS:

- it’s not cheap

- it gives your lips a nude look

But if you have beautiful tan skin AND white sparkling teeth, you will definitely enjoy this lip balm and the way it looks on you!

The last Con:

- you might have to reapply it every hour or so (I don’t know if it’s me, but somehow, my lip products keep fading away in an hour time)…

But apart from this, I am loving this Sun Protection Balm, especially, taking into consideration that nude lips are so huge this Fall! And it’s always great to do both: Protect and Be Fab at the same time, right? ;)

My name is Katy and I am addicted to lipsticks. Nor do I have any intention of abandoning the love(s) of my life as another season leaves a flock of make-up looks like a ticking time bomb at my door. I am, quite frankly, powerless to resist.
