Who’s World Is It Anyway?

By Rose Mills
Do you ever wonder who’s world you’re living in? Are you really wearing the trousers in your life? Or is it dictated by the rising prices, fast paced city lifestyle and the demanding catwalk fashionistas – overly skinny, overly pretty and damn expensive to copy!
As a woman, an engaged woman at that, I often question my existence in relation to the things around me. A quickly emptying bank account (but I only got paid 5 days ago and haven’t even been food shopping yet!), what my friends are doing and talking about and how can we ignore the current failing bank system.

God! I’ve never been so clueless in life! Where am I? What am I doing here? I’m just so lost. I guess this is what happens to all kids who choose to come to Universities. The first few weeks are fun, but in a scary way! You don’t know people, you want them to like you, you want to have friends and to complicate things all the more – You don’t know how you can do all this!

Beauty Lies Within You

When I was six, I saw an airplane for the first time, I asked my nanay (mom), “ who make it fly,” she said, ”the pilot”, and I asked again “who else is with him while flying,” she said, “the co pilot and the flight stewardess” , I ask again, “is an stewardess a girl or a boy,” she said a lady. From then on I wanted to be a stewardess because I wanted to be flying on a lovely bird.

Finding My Way
Posted in America's Next Top Blogger, Lifestyle by America's Next Top Blogger | 1 Comment »
I’m trying to find my purpose in life; I’m trying to find my way. I always enjoyed writing, especially poetry. In high school I found out that I was good at writing stories and interviewing people for Journalism class. I continued my studies in college and graduated with a BA in English and minored in Journalism. After graduating I sent out applications with my resume attached only to get turned down by four out of five possible internships. The fifth internship had good news that came too late. I already had a job as a data entry clerk that was going to help me pay back my school loans and start a 401k fund. I desperately wanted to take the internship, however the hours conflicted with the job that I desperately needed to keep at the time. Now three years later I am still a data entry clerk who is still looking for freelance journalism work. I don’t regret taking my current position because if I hadn’t I would have never met my fiancé. I just want to find my niche in the world and I want to know if I’m truly meant to be a writer. I still enjoy writing and I have a blog that I keep updated about the world around me. I also continue to search for possible freelance work that I can do from home. However, it never seems enough for me and it does not seem to be what I’m searching for. I know the dream job won’t come in a magic bottle and that I have to continue to search for it and put my resume out there. But how do I get five years experience if every job I find is asking for experienced writers?

Take Time Out For YOU
Posted in America's Next Top Blogger, Lifestyle by America's Next Top Blogger | 1 Comment »
Everybody needs a few minutes a day to relax and decompress. ESPECIALLY a stay at home parent. It can some times be a little difficult to make time or even remember to make time for yourself each day, but you must find a way!!! Weather it’s reading the morning paper while sipping a cup of coffee, retail therapy, a long afternoon stroll(while the kids are in school) or taking a candle lit bubble bath at the end of the night!! Being a Parent is sometimes a pretty thank less job, so it’s up to you to thank yourself.

You Are What You Think

This is to all who have yet to realize how much your thinking determines your destiny.
I truly believe that where you are mentally has everything to do with where you are in life. That in turn has everything to do with the decisions you’ve made up to this point.
These decisions may have been influenced by family and friends. Other decisions where made based on money and maybe education. Things happen throughout our lives and we make adjustments to get pass them. Sometimes those adjustments last longer than planned.

Finding Nemo… or Who Ever I Call Myself Today.
Posted in America's Next Top Blogger, Lifestyle by America's Next Top Blogger | 3 Comments »
Hello my name is Dianna, with 2 Ns! many people get that confused and spell it wrong. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves. And if you call me Diane. I hate that name. But it’s only one of the many names I have. There’s Melba, she’s a lovely lady, proper and true. She’s a large black woman from the south. She believes whole heatedly in Christ and lives her life for him. She is always kind. Then there is Sally. Sally is a dirty little teen who does as she pleases and wants only to have fun all day long. She has no responsibilities or worries, but she can sometimes be quite mean. Her fresh tongue might cut you to the core and she’ll just walk away laughing. Don’t ask Sally if you look fat in that dress- she’ll tell you the truth. But she’s strong and honest and doesn’t take any “cr-p” from anyone. She likes to teach women how to do the same. Many woman love to hate her. She is very sexy and likes to flaunt it. Finally there is Dee Dee. She is a child-like spirit, who loves to laugh, love and dance. She falls in love at the drop of a hat and then gets her heart broken because she is quick to believe men’s lies. She is easily hurt by words and actions and would rather run and hide then fight or argue. She just wants everyone to be happy. But she is often filled with sadden because she can’t seem to find her way home.

Don’t Look Back… Or, Should You?

By Rita Wesley
Have you ever looked back on your past loves and wondered, what if? I think I know every woman’s the answer to that question, but lately it’s been on my brain.
I’ve been in a loving relationship for a little over 3 years now, but I can’t help but wonder sometimes, what if?guy During college (5 years ago), I “dated” a guy who was then the hottest guy in school, we maintained a friendship throughout the years, well a friendship mixed with I’m in love with you but we never sealed the deal. Well, now he is the hottest guy on the celebrity blogs and women all around the world are drooling over his pecks, and I can’t help but wonder, what if I decided to be with him? What would my life be like? Where would I work? Would I be married? How much more fabulous would my life be had I been with him? Basically, What am I missing?
