1. Deny the break-up

Whatever you do, if your partner thinks it’s time to break up, don’t refuse. It takes two to make a relationship successful and even if you manage to force them to stay, it’ll fall apart eventually anyway. Have some dignity, and instead just let them leave.

2. Stalking

Don’t stalk your ex or send them texts, emails or voicemails. Leave them alone! Have a friend you can call or visit if you find yourself wanting to talk to your ex and channel your energy into a hobby or sport instead.

3. Drunk Dial

While going out for a few drinks after a break-up might be the perfect way to unwind, drunk dialing your ex is not. Desperate answering machine messages aren’t the way you want to portray yourself so leave your phone at home or give it to a friend or just avoid alcohol for a while.

12. He gets angry easily

Everything you do seems to make him angry. And most of the times, you don’t think you’ve done anything wrong. It could be the simplest of things from spending a night partying with the girls or staying late at work. He doesn’t give you a chance to explain or even talk for that matter and usually you find that a night of fun is followed by him screaming away and ends with a major argument.  A sure shot sign that he could be harboring feelings of jealousy.

11. Not happy when you talk about someone

You’ve noticed that every time you talk excitedly about someone, he is visibly unhappy and uncomfortable. It doesn’t matter what gender but you see that it is worse when the person you talk about is of the opposite sex. Now I get why he would get mad if you spoke about a certain someone ALL the time but if a simple, one off thing like describing how good a person is at what he does or what fun you had with him/her should not upset him. I know a lot of you like to employ the strategy of making your man jealous just for kicks or to revive your relationship but this would be a good time to say use it in moderation!

10. He’s possessive about you

Does he want to know where you are and with who all the time? Does he call incessantly when you are out with your friends? Does he insist on knowing what time you will be done?  Agreed that a relationship comes with a certain amount of answerability  and I see no harm in informing him where you are going to be. But if too many questions follow, it may be a sign of jealousy.

Day 1: Mirror, mirror on the wall…

Take a good look at yourself. When was the last time you had a sexy haircut? Get an appointment with your hair salon for a body wax, manicure and a pedicure. You can’t make anyone jealous if you look like a yellow toothed gorilla. Add some color to your hair and look clean, healthy and ready to take on the world.

Day 2: Pamper yourself a bit

Remember the money you’re saving up to buy him a new tie? Spend it! Buy a pair of elegant black pumps. Move over to the lingerie section and get something strappy, a little bold but not too flashy. Subtlety works like magic! When you get home, leave the package at some obvious location. You don’t have to open it all out. Just leave a little bit of lace peeping out of the cover. Don’t mention it when your man comes home. Don’t even wear it for the next week. He’ll wonder why you bought such awesome innerwear when you were not planning to use it!

Day 3: Girls day out

Avoid sitting at home and calling up your man to ask him when he’s coming back from home. Be independent. Get a hobby to keep your occupied. Find friends who are not common to his. Make plans to keep you busy in the evenings. You want him to know that you have a life and that you are a happy and independent women of the 21st century. If he doesn’t have time for you, then you are not going to wait around forever.

Day 4: Join a gym

Make sure that the gym that you join is unisex. Mention in passing the names of a couple of ‘male’ friends and how they’re so regular to the gym. Also mention how you appreciate that they’re putting so much effort into looking good. If you have a personal trainer, then all the better! Don’t forget to talk about his biceps.

This column from MsCyphrah Newsvine answers a question about the dilemma of a woman whose boyfriend never seems to get jealous. Even when she spends time with some of her male friends, her boyfriend does not seem to mind, making the girl feel as if he does not really love her.

Here’s part of what Ms. Cyprah had to say:

…jealousy is not a positive quality in a relationship. It is a very negative one that lies at the heart of control and signals a lack of respect. He is actually treating you with respect, by appreciating your friends. He knows he loves you and that you love him, and does not feel he has to ‘prove’ anything, but you would like him to prove it by showing how jealous he is of you.

Way to go, Ms. Cyprah! I thinks that she hit the nail in the head with this advice. Jealousy is a negative emotion which shows how insecure a person is about herself. It’s a good thing that the boyfriend of the girl who wrote the letter never gets jealous.

I guess her case is the other spectrum of women who have extremely jealous boyfriends that they do not want them to spend any time at all with other members of the male species.

My own piece of advice for that letter sender is: be thankful that you have such an understanding boyfriend. His lack of jealousy just shows how secure he is of himself and how much he trusts you – knowing that you will not betray him while you’re spending time with your other male friends.

Shed that insecurity, girl, it’s just a waste of your precious time!

Especially when he’s flirting. Flirting with the opposite sex is something that both men and women are guilty of.

But if your guy’s flirting really pisses the heck out of you? Do you immediately go the drama queen route and ask him “What the hell are you doing flirting with that girl”?

Do you wait until you’re in the safety of your own love nest to tell him that you want to claw his – or that girl’s – eyes out?

Or do you give him the cold shoulder until he freezes his ass off?

I would probably do one of the same, depending on the ‘heaviness’ of the flirtation, lol.

But seriously, we have to accept the fact that guys are natural flirts. This is especially true if they’re extremely sociable. When you see your guy openly flirting with the hottest girl in the room and you’re feeling a tad insecure – it’s better to go the diplomatic way rather than immediately putting him on the defensive.

Just introduce the subject casually and you’ll know from his reaction whether that was just a little harmless flirtation - or something else.

She’s getting an island (”Greece”) from ex-hubby Tommy as a part of The World Project. Tommy seems happy about the whole thing, and I guess he’s planning on spending some time there with the kids:

The L.A. Times described Penelope Cruz’s Sahara perks in a recent article, and wow–I’m jealous. Totaling about $835,000, Penelope’s little bonuses rival her $1.6 million paycheck. What I’m interested in are the hairstylist and makeup artist, cashing in at $135,550 apiece. The costume dresser perk was only valued at a mere $22,235. How disappointing.

I’m not jealous of celebrities per se, but I am jealous of their wardrobes. And what makes me even more jealous is all of their free wardrobe builders–lingerie, cute tees, and one-offs from new designers.

According to the L.A. Times, Sienna Miller may be putting some of her free things on auction, because, as she admitted, “[…]It makes you feel guilty. I did get given some stuff I didn’t ask for necessarily…then I found out that you can actually give it to this company that auctions it on EBay and gives the money for charity.”

And what kind of stuff might show up? Oh, just a $1,200 Melrose Mac laptop, an $800 Botkier bag, and $8,000 worth of Lia Sophia jewelry, among other things. Drool. Would you donate your free swag to charity if you were a celebrity?

Cameron Diaz, who recently split with Justin Timberlake, exploded on Jessica Biel, after discovering her on the rooftop with Justin. According to the National Ledger,

Diaz followed Timberlake to the In Style party at the Hilton Oasis, where “they had an awkward conversation.” The “Charlie’s Angels” star then trailed Timberlake to the Beverly Hilton rooftop for the Universal party, where she found him chatting up Biel – and screamed at the “Illusionist” star. “If that’s how she wants to get him back, it won’t work,” said our insider. “She’s desperate.”

Just what every man wants… to be followed by an ex-girlfriend after the relationship ends. Or, better yet, have an ex-girlfriend scream at a woman the man was just talking to. Great.
