Guess Which 5 Celebrities Were at Jean Paul Gaultier Fashion Show?

Jean Paul Gaultier recently showcased his ready to wear Spring/Summer 2010 Collection during Paris Fashion Week. I don’t know how “ready-to-wear” most of these garments were but the show was definitely fun to watch!

A lot of designers are bringing back the trend of wearing innerwear as outerwear and you’d expect the creator of Madonna’s cone bra to know how to do it right! And guess who was sitting in the front row? Continue reading ‘Guess Which 5 Celebrities Were at Jean Paul Gaultier Fashion Show?’

Backstage Beauty: Smoky Eye from Gucci Fall-Winter Runway Show

If designer Christian Dior showed us the “whimsical cat eye look” for the runway show of the label during Fashion Week, let’s see what the house of Gucci has in store for us.

This fall and winter season, it is safe to say that bold eye makeup and almost-nude-not-even-sheer lips are in. If Christian Dior went all out in the catlike eye makeup of the models, Gucci went all rockstar glam.

Best Beauty Trends for this Fall-Winter right from Runway: Christian Dior

The “whimsical cat eye look” is what I call the makeup trend right from the runway at Christian Dior’s show for Fashion Week. Wild, big hair, bold eyeshadows, upturned brows and super huge false eyelashes – that’s the look that you’d want to ‘imitate’ if you want to go for a straight-off-the-runway fashion statement.

Check out some of the best beauty trends from Christian Dior’s fall-winter collection:

Make a sweeping makeup statement with this chalky shade of an eyeshadow combined with an orange middle highlight and huge false eyelashes. Match the shade of the middle highlights with your nail polish color and you’re good to go!

Lanvin Spring 2009 Collection, Cohesively Sexy

Don’t let his diminutive size and black-rimmed eyeglasses fool you. When it comes to high-luxe feminine fashion, Alber Elbaz is the go-to guy.

Since the fall of 2001, he has been creating gorgeous pieces under the house of Lanvin – which has been a favorite of celebs like Liv Tyler. For the label’s Spring 2009 collection held at the runways of Paris, the designer became uber-successful in featuring garments which, as he himself said: “made life easier for women”.

Check out pics from the collection below.

John Galliano Spring 2009 – A Brit Art History Lesson

A clash of historical eras, a fantasy of theatrics and thoroughly modern technical skills.” – that’s the classic John Galliano look as described by NY Fashion. And the Brit seems determined to teach us a thing or two about history.

At the John Galliano Spring 2009 collection held at the runways of Paris, historical bearskin hats mixed with lovely evening dresses, colorful suits and wearable but sheer frocks.

The doll-ish hair and makeup of the models did not distract from the fact that the clothes are the center of attention here – and there’s not a designer that can pull off the Galliano look than, well, John Galliano.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2009, Lil’ Parisienne Princess

Louis Vuitton is more than just a monogrammed label: it’s a lifestyle and a fashion statement.

At the Spring 2009 Louis Vuitton collection held at the runways of Paris just recently, Marc Jacobs called the show reminiscent of a Little Parisienne princess. Which is completely and utterly brilliant.

From the obi-belted dresses and suits to the glittery sweaters and wide legged pants, there is definitely something here that every woman would die to have, unlike other collections which seems to be only suitable for the Gossip Girls or SATC cast.

Here’s the lil’ Parisienne princess look from the LV Spring 2009 collection:
