If booties are in this season, wait until you see the thigh-high cowboy boots which created a buzz at the Givenchy Spring 2009 Collection in Paris.

The boots were worn with an almost-indecent, yet still uber-chic mid-thigh white frock and an exquisite black jacket. The theme of the show was “Western Bondage”, according to designer Riccardo Tisci himself.

The virtually unknown Italian took over the Givenchy house way back in 2005 – and his winter collection last year showed critics that he’s more than capable of running things, fashion-wise.

As Sarah Mower of Style.com put it – crazed lines will be forming for those thigh-high cowboy boots overnight, recession or no.

The only sign that we’ve seen of the “Western Bondage” theme were a few items like an LBD with puffed sleeves and a crisscross front. All in all, the Givenchy show was a success – and I myself will be lining up once those boots are made available to fashion aficionados some time soon.

Hot, hot, hot – that’s all I can say about Jessica Simpson’s 2008 Swim collection. And would you expect anything less from the hottie herself?

A bit of print overload – there’s something for everyone. From flirty polka dots to nautical stripes to a humble paisley and refreshing geometric print, these suits had personality. As for the cuts, it was a circus of skimpy strings, sexy bandeaus, sporty ruched numbers and some super sexy cut-out one pieces (my personal faves). The fun accessories: cowboy hats, head scarves and biggie sunnies all added sass; oh, and the signature cowboy boots too. I definitely saw some of all-American Jessica in this collection – maybe she’s found her true calling!

Dallas Cowboy showboat Terrell Owens isn’t much of a team player off the field, either. While attending a wedding last weekend at Marquis Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, the swollen-headed wide receiver ignored the all-in-white dress code and was the only guest in black attire. “He managed to draw further attention to himself by arriving late to the ceremony,” said our source. Britney Spears is a girl with a one-track mind when it comes to accessories. She’s never far away from a wig, cowboy hat (ick), or this brown leather handbag from 7 for All Mankind. Though the smooth leather bag is cute, I’d love to see the girl break out of the box a bit and sample some more A-list designers like the Chloe Bay she also owns. His personal life may be a bit chaotic (handling both the pregnant actress ex-girlfriend and the Victoria’ Secret model currently on his arm) but there is no denying that Tom Brady is both a good quarterback and a handsome man. Although some sports fans may find him to be a bit of a pretty boy he’s rugged enough for Stetson Cologne. They’ve signed him up to be the latest face of their ad campaign.

Gossip columnists Rush & Molloy recently reported that Brady refused at first to put on the iconic Stetson cowboy hat. Strange since he didn’t seem to mind donning a cowboy hat for Bruce Weber in the pages of GQ.

Ah, yes. Welcome to Men’s Fashion Week in Milan. Yesterday, we learned that Versace is scoring big with clerically-inspired outerwear, and today we learn that Vivian Westwood has been dropping acid (or something).

Don’t get me wrong, I live in Austin, TX — the capitol of “cowboy chic,” where it’s cool for even the most self-deprecating, sensitive indie-rocker types to butch up with a pair of Justin boots. But the irony is completely lost when you make the hat so obnoxiously campy that Richard Simmons wouldn’t be caught dead in it.

The purple granny cardigan only adds salt to the wound. Needless to say, I’m embarrassed for cowboys everywhere.
