Do Online Relationships Really Last?

For me, I do not think that the breakdown of any relationship has something to do with how you as a couple met. Isn’t meeting a prospective boyfriend online just one of the high-tech ways to meet men if you’re still in the dating scene?

If your relationship/marriage was made online, there’s a one in three chance that you will be sitting in front of a marriage counselor, say experts. Psychiatrists have recorded an increase in the number of couples, who met in cyberspace, seeking counseling.

It’s just like meeting your guy in a church, at the gym, at school or in the club. After your initial meeting, the key to being successful in a relationship depends on how you two work together as a couple to make things last.

It should have nothing to do with the way that you initially met. I have these two friends who met online – but after meeting face to face, they’re as good as any ‘regular’ couple despite the fact that their relationship got a head start in cyberspace.

What’s your take on this? Do you think that online relationships are off to a more rocky start than couples who first met in more conventional ways?

Last week we got to take a peek at what this year’s Governors Ball is going to look like. As you can tell, it’s going to be an extravagant affair with lush red velvet, shiny gold accents, red roses and gold orchids. Such an extravagant affair can only be pulled off by someone really spectacular, and that someone is special events producer Cheryl Cecchetto. For the 19th consecutive year, Cheryl will be overseeing every tiny detail from the 1,675 floating transparent globes to the 15 shades of red roses.

Is it love when you can’t say goodbye?

I was chatting with a friend earlier this afternoon when we broached the subject of conversations with men of note (special someones) and ending it, in particular. She said something that ~~alarmed~~ created an impression on me and wish to discuss it further. It was something along the lines of, “it must be love when you’ve been saying goodbye for the last 30 minutes.” Ack. Love?!? REALLY? Gawd.

There may be dozens of reasons as to why a conversation continues even when someone wishes to end it. Among them may be,

An idea, question, or memory suddenly surfaces.

When using a messaging app, you can’t really tell what the other person was typing, so, there might be an overlap in ideas.

Even when you’re, er, sleepy you try to stay awake cuz you are enjoying the conversation.

Or, simply, that the topic’s sooo interesting, so, you can’t seem to pull yourself away from the conversation!

It doesn’t automatically mean you’re ~~still~~ in love with the other person, right?

I want to know what you guys think.
