Aside from travel books, I just love videos featuring places. It’s like an invitation to come and see the place live, with my own eyes. Videos, especially those of a documentary nature, draw my attention to things I would probably miss even if I had been there.
And that’s why I love Swajana. As of writing they have 6 videos on archive, featuring people, events and scenes in everyday life in India. I especially love those videos they did on Nai, A Pavement Barber, Pottery, and the Flower Maiden (can you tell I find people stories most amazing?). All videos were professionally shot and edited, I almost feel guilty watching them for free.
Go and get a peek of what it’s like to be on the streets of India. Swajana releases new videos every Monday.
