Ready-To-Wear

n. Also known as RTW or prêt-à-porter. Apparel made in factories to standard size measurements. In the early 1800's, menswear was the first manufactured apparel. In the late 1800's, womenswear was made but limited to non-fashion apparel. By the 1920's, designed, manufactured, and accepted as fashion apparel.
