I know you’ve already watched enough chick flicks to last you a lifetime – so how about some good old, absorbing action-thriller?

The title of the movie’s “The Traitor?”, which stars Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and Jeff Daniels. It’s a political thriller about an African-born Muslim American who’s caught in worlds of jihad and espionage.

Here’s a bit of the NY Times Review by A.O. Scott:

The story moves around a lot — from Yemen to Canada, from Chicago to Marseille — and involves a lot of interesting minor characters, from Samir’s former girlfriend (Archie Panjabi) to the intelligence bureaucrat (Jeff Daniels) who knows his deepest secrets.

But at its best “Traitor” feels less like the usual rushed, contrived action-travelogue than like an intimately scaled drama of ambiguous motives and fretful moral dilemmas. It holds your attention, even if you never quite believe it.

The film’s produced by Don Cheadle and is written and directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff who’s the screenwriter for “The Day After Tomorrow“.
