A jolly-making combo of vodka, peppermint schnapps, and grenadine with a candy-cane rim, this spirited seasonal concoction is a variation on a recipe in my book "The Last-Minute Party Girl: Fashionable, Fearless, and Foolishly Simple Entertaining." Potent, as red and racy as Rudolph's nose, and as refreshing as the brisk winter air, it'll ensure you won't even care if you get coal in your stocking this year.
1-1/2 ounces vodka
1-1/2 ounces peppermint schnapps
1/2 ounce grenadine
2 small candy canes, 1 crushed and 1 whole
Moisten the rim of a chilled martini glass and dip the wet rim into the crushed candy cane.
Combine the vodka, schnapps, grenadine, and ice in a cocktail shaker and shake it like Santa knows you've been bad.
Carefully strain the mix into the martini glass and garnish with a candy cane.
