Let’s see… I personally think that they’re a trifle too big, especially for a day out in town. However, if you’re a Grammy-award winning singer from Barbados with chart-topping singles attached to your name, I guess you can get away with it.

For those who think that they can get away with this Rihanna-esque look of supersized hoop earrings, here are a few tips that you need to keep in mind:

• Hoop earrings, whether gold or silver, would look great with a bare neckline so wear them with a shoulder and neck-baring top.
• There’s not much variety in design when it comes to hoop earrings, so it’ll be great if you can shop for a pair with a design that has little bit more texture and glitter to it.
• Giant hoop earrings can cause a strain on your ears, so choose a pair which is lightweight, preferably with a hollow middle so your head won’t be dragged down with the earrings whenever you move.
• If you want to go all out, bangle bracelets in a matching shade will complement the pair of giant hoops that you’re wearing.
