Their Promises and My Hopes:
Remember the promos of Nu Skin for Christmas that included the Galvanic Spa?
Well, I was one of those people who plunged right in and bought the new Galvanic Spa because I was so lemming for it for almost a year! Well, what is this product, anyway? Nu Skin describes it as:
Expand your home spa experience. Rejuvenate your complexion, revitalize your scalp, and refine your body with professional spa treatments—no appointment necessary. You’ve seen the results on celebrities and supermodels—but in the real world, who has time for a visit to a day spa? If you forgot a visit to a day spa because it can be time-consuming or costly, you may be missing out on the remarkable health and beauty benefits of spa treatments. Now you can bring more of the spa experience home with the patented Galvanic Spa™ System II. Small, smart, and powerful, the programmable Galvanic Spa™ II Instrument with patented self-adjusting galvanic currents and interchangeable heads—for the face, scalp, and body—works synergistically with specially formulated products to facilitate the transport of key ingredients for optimal performance. Your radiant complexion, fuller, healthier looking hair, and improved appearance will leave people wondering how you find the time.
With three heads, it could mean that you can use it for your hair (using the Nutriol treatments ), your body ( cellulites, byebye thanks to the Body Shaping Gel ) , and the face (using the pre treatment and treatment ampules ).
Well, I haven’t tried the tools for the hair and the body because I was too preoccupied with my face. I have been told that this tool does wonders, and is a must-have for travel. I have the initial ampules for the face free, and the treatment gels are described as:
Works to restore skin’s natural vibrancy by removing impurities and promoting cellular energy. When your complexion looks tired and stressed, a spa facial can provide the revitalization you need, but who has the time? Exclusive patented technology allows you to achieve spa results at home in just 10 minutes with the Galvanic Spa™ II Instrument, Face Conductor, and specially formulated facial gels. Galvanic Spa™ Pre-Treatment Facial Gel helps remove impurities so your pores can breathe while Galvanic Spa™ Treatment Facial Gel revives and invigorates tired skin by promoting cellular energy.
Wow, exactly me. Did they just describe me? I guess so. My skin has been stressed for decades ( okay, I’m exagerrating, I’m not THAT old! Hahaha! I’m barely two and a half decades old! hahaha! ) Well, it sure felt that way, so I think I needed some luxurious spa treatment at home.

There is enough information (you can google parabens, problems with parabens, etc.) to suggest cause for concern about parabens.
Noone needs to take anything anyone says (including me) as the last word since anyone can research this issue for themselves. I understand that Nu Skin is committed to product safety. I believe Nu Skin is committed to quality products. However, I choose not to knowingly apply parabens to my skin because of the questions and concerns about health issues connected to parabens. I do not think it is wise to discount these concerns based on old (2004 is five years ago) product safety “reviews” and I do not believe in being educated by one point of view. I remain interested in the Galvanic Spa and might purchase one if there are other gels (that do not contain parabens) that can be used with it. I would like to think that Nu Skin, since it sells its products to mostly women, would be interested in finding alternatives to parabens, since there are questions and concerns about applying these chemicals to the skin on a regular basis.
Hi all,
Are you also aware that Parabens are used as preservatives in food products? Surely taking them internally would be far worse than applying them topically?
Parabens are used as a preservative system to combat the growth of bacteria and other pathogens in your skincare products, lotions and food.
There are many alternative preservative systems available, but these are all relatively ‘young’ and who is to say that in future years these won’t be deemed to be cancer causing etc?
I believe that the negative press regarding parabens was used in a very competitive skincare market to create a point of difference between competing products. ie paraben free vs. paraben containing products. Looking at the recent feedback, this would seem to be working well!
Has anyone tried this device on their bodies? if so, what area and did it work?
I have plenty of stretch marks on belly and thighs after my baby was born (6+ years ago), have also lost some weight and have not so firm skin. A lady at a spa told me this would help, but I don’t want to buy if I can’t find anyone with testimony of it being true…it does sound tempting and wouldn’t mind to try on my face ;)
Help!!!
Hi Alexandra – for sure does this little “magic tool” work on your body. I have some recent photographs of Anri, a friend with “old stretch” marks the results was needles to see amazing, to such an effect that we have put up the photos on the gym’s wall. You use it together with the body gel and dermatic effects cream.

Hello, Everyone:
I haven’t visited the board in awhile.
I just want to weigh in on the NuSkin Galvanic Spa as there are lots of questions about whether it works. Yes, it does work, but like with anything, people will have varying results — some more than others.
I don’t have a lot of lines and wrinkles. BUT, I used it on Wednesday before I went to a meeting (I hadn’t used it in a couple of weeks) and my skin looked absolutely radiant. My makeup looked better. I looked like I had just gotten a facial. That was worth using the Galvanic Spa to me.
Beyond that, we’ve been working with a store in Richmond, Virginia, doing demos on half the face and the spa has totally taken off because these women (primarily in their late 30s and older are seeing fantastic results). As a result we are expanding into other cities and the whole thing is going like gangbusters!
I say try before you buy (although you can get a refund — I always find having to send things back a hassle). Try to get a demo on half your face and see the results for yourself.
Please feel free to contact me at hospitablecoach@aol.com if you would like to talk further.
Blessings!
Paula
Hi,
I’ve been using the products for over a year now. I originally was a product user but then my friends wanted to know how come my cheeks always had a glow in pictures. I decided to become a distributor. So now I get the products even cheaper. If you don’t want to be a distributor I recommnend you get on ADR (automatic delievery rewards program) and you get 20% back in product points (1 point = 1 dollar)! I got over $300 worth of free make-up and skin care I’d been wanting to try for free. Gotta love that :)
I am looking for a Nuskin Galvanic Spa agent located in Houston, Texas and in London, England that can sell the Galvanic Spa to my clients. I have clients that are interested in this product but but I have no interest in selling or distributing it.
If interested email me at magoejohnson@gmail.com
Thanks
I am looking for a Nuskin Galvanic Spa interested in this productin the business for the Galvanic Spa system II
i used the spa along with the ageloc gels and line corrector gels for 4 months consistently, and noticed only the very slightest difference, which i feel had more to do with cleansing my face so consistently. (I don’t wear make-up, so i sometimes don’t actually use a cleanser in the mornings, just water. However, when using the NuSkin products I used the cleanser before each treatment, morning and night.)
I feel neither the line corrector nor the ageLOC getls made any significant difference after 4 months. I was extremely disappointed.
It’s worth noting that the return/refund policy is not readily available anywhere — a distributor has to get it from their “back office.” The Galvanic Spa is not refundable after 30 days — so now I’m stuck with it.
Anybody want to buy one at a discount???
Wonderfull results – not only just for face and neck – contact me if you want to know where else you can use it and the results you will get. info@eezehealth.co.za
I recently heard about the galvanic spa and got one treatment done. I am pretty skeptical, especially of MLM companies, and one thing I don’t like about this one is that you can’t find out what their actual ingredients are because they’re so secretive. I’m really into all-natural products because I like the idea of everything I put on my skin being good for my body… It is after all the body’s biggest organ. One thing I don’t like about Nuskin is that they don’t make any indication that their products are safe and natural, so who knows if they’ll come out with some study in ten years that proves that their ingredients actually do your body harm or something. One thing I am curious about though… Would the Galvanic machine work well with my favorite natural product line?? I don’t exactly want to pay $300 to find out, but has anyone heard of IN LOVE with Bodycare? Its a new line that I LOVE and all of their ingredients are COMPLETELY pure and powerful. Their lotion has a really powerful mushroom extract in it that is anti-cancer, anti-aging, super good for skin and your whole body. Anyway, I would love to try, or hear of any of you that have or would try IN LOVE face cream with the Galvanic spa and see what results you get. If one of you already has the Spa but doesn’t want to keep using the expensive new skin products, if you want to try IN LOVE let me know how it works together!! They’re a new line and their website is under construction right now but if you call them they’re really helpful. http://www.inlovewithbodycare.com. My email is ash749@yahoo.com
Thanks!!
P.S. Trish I was just reading your post about parabens. I have heard the exact same thing and one of the reasons I Love IN LOVE bodycare is because not only does it work better than anything I’ve ever tried, but it has absolutely none of those potentially harmful ingredients that even a lot of so called “natural” products have!! And FYI they have the best cleanser ever!! All you do is spray it on and wipe it off, so easy, and it balances yourskin so its not dry or oily. Perfect!! Just thought I’d throw that out there! :)
I have the Nu Skin galvanic spa II have not tried it yet. Can any one tell me with their own experince, if any other brand of products will work and be appropriate with using gels, creams during the treatment process? And do they have to be negatively, posively charged? And water based? Thank you for a reply
Wow! So it seems like most of you are seeing positive results. Honestly though I don’t know if I would bother with it. Heavy on the pocket not to mention it sounds like such long, tedious process …Apply this, then that , massage…etc. etc. and I really don’t have the patience to put myself through that. A spa experience should be relaxing. Maybe if I had a boyfriend or a husband to work on me :D
I find that 35 minutes for my face neck and hands to be .. well short if you compare it to salon treatments? And the results? Better than salon treatments. Who does not want ageloc in their skin … I mean … Look out for 23rd October in Hollywood – it’s gonna rock the boat of anti aging big time!!!
Regarding the NuSkin Galvanic Spa, admittedly I have been a distributor but … you should know that the product does work. I know someone who has used it faithfully and she looks fantastic. I’ve gotten great results, too, but you HAVE to use it consistently, even if it’s just once a week before a special occasion. If money is a concern, then once a week will do versus three times a week. Just know that the results will be more spread out. A month’s worth of gels is about $30 (distributor price) for a once a week treatment. That is not a huge investment after you buy the Spa.
Yes, it is a multi-step process so if applying two different gels to your face and then using the Spa doesn’t appeal to you, then I can tell you that you will not enjoy using the product and it will sit on a shelf somewhere. Regarding the ingredients, I have a box in front of me right now and all the ingredients are listed. Someone commented about NuSkin being secretive about the ingredients. I don’t know the basis for that comment. I’m not going to take the time to write out all the ingredients here (just ask your local distributor to show you the box or call/click the company) but trust me all the ingredients are listed. I don’t see any methyl/polyparabens listed.
Last, but not least, the spa and gels are meant to be used together. There may or may not be other products that work with the Spa, but that’s going to be a trial and error process.
Frankly, I would rather use the Spa and the gels that come with it rather than spend a lot of time, money and energy trying to find substitutes — or just not buy the Spa at all. I’m sure there are other less expensive galvanic spas that you could buy and do the mix and match thing with product.
Just giving an honest perspective. So in summary, the NuSkin Galvanc Spa — great product, it works but you gotta be committed to using it!
Hope this helps!
Paula, that absolutely helps! I still don’t think I’d go for it but thanks a ton for the information! :)
The gels for the Galvanic Spa now contain ageLOC, a proprietary blend of ingredients that target aging at the source. This is a market leading technology and something that no other cosmetic or skincare company can do, or will be able to do until current patents run out.
There is plenty of info on the web, feel free to google it.
Look out for Nuskins new range called ‘Elements’. This is a daily use regime also targetting aging at the source, this is released in the US next month and will be rolled out globally throughout 2010.
Hi there
I have recently started offering the galvanic spa treatment in my clinic in Brighton and it is fabulous – for anyone who maybe interested, please contact http://www.a-newyou.co.uk

Rachel,
