10 Clichs about Love We like to Think Are True ...

Love is a topic about which there are lots of clichés. Whether they’re rolled out as platitudes when we’re hurt, or used to steel us against upcoming bad times or to explain how we’re feeling at a particular time, there seems to be a love cliché for every occasion. Obviously, they’re called clichés for a reason and by definition, are supposed to be based on fact. So which are the clichés about love we should believe in?

Out of SIGHT, out of MIND

To maintain our own sense of dignity and independence, we like to think that having someone out of your sight means that they are totally out of your mind. Some people can indeed get their brain to work in this sensible fashion, but there often comes a time when you can’t seem to get the person out of your mind no matter how hard you try, and it’s at that point where you can be sure that you have fallen hard.

2

ABSENCE MAKES the HEART GROW FONDER

I really subscribe to this particular idea. The harder you love someone, the harder it is to be apart from them. During periods where you are not able to be close to the person you hold most affection for, it can sometimes feel like torture! You can be sure that are totally in love if you can’t stand to be away from each other for anything longer than a few days!

3

LOVE HURTS

We all wish this one wasn’t true, but the unfortunate fact is that whether you like it or not, love can hurt! Nobody ever said love was easy, and we have all heard enough songs and seen enough movies to know that this is certainly case. The trick here is to remember that persevering in romance can lead to great happiness when it is with the right person!

4

LOVE CONQUERS ALL

I think this statement is true in the sense that when you find the right person and enjoy the right kind of love, you whole world changes to revolve around it rather than having to accommodate it. Looking at it this way, love conquers all to become the defining aspect of your life with your partner, and everything else just fits in to place around your romantic happiness.

5

NEVER SETTLE for ANYTHING LESS than the FAIRY TALE

Though some people do have a problem with this one in the sense that it might not be the most realistic goal, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having high standards and seeking out a kind of love that you think you deserve as a woman! If you are the kind of woman who will settle for nothing but fairy tale romance, then that is fine, because you will attract the right kind of prince for your needs!

Famous Quotes

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

LOVE MEANS NEVER HAVING to SAY YOU’RE SORRY

There is definitely some truth to this statement if you analyze it the right way. It doesn’t mean that you should never apologize to your partner if you know you have done something wrong. It means that once you find that perfect connection with your soul mate, a lot of the things you might have had to say sorry for once upon a time, simply are not a problem anymore.

7

IT’S BETTER to HAVE LOVED and LOST than NEVER LOVED at ALL

This is a statement that alludes to the fact that, if possible, we shouldn’t keep ourselves guarded and alone if we can help it. Sure, the prospect of opening yourself up and being vulnerable with somebody might seem daunting, but the positives of the experience of love totally outweigh the negatives.

8

YOU CAN’T FIND LOVE UNLESS YOU’RE LOOKING

This doesn’t necessarily mean being on Tinder and OK Cupid, but more just always making sure that you are open to the possibility of finding love in any kind of situation. Whether you meet speed dating or you meet on a train, it is the right kind of attitude that can lead to a long-lasting romance.

9

YOU’LL FIND the PERSON when YOU LEAST EXPECT IT

There is definitely a ring of truth to this statement in the sense that sometimes, when a person is desperate for love, they can evoke an unappealing, urgent tone that might be off-putting and detrimental. When you are off guard, you are as near to your true self as you can be, and it is in this mood that the right kind of love interest can often appear!

10

LOVE is BLIND

How true is this? How many times do we find ourselves making excuses for our partners in the name of love? That's the nice definition. It has also come to mean an expression for when people can't see why two people are attracted to each other. it doesn't matter. It might be blind to outsiders, but for the two "blind" people, they know why they're in love.
