They really do need some extra special TLC. It isn’t enough to just slather on hand cream, although that’s important to do regularly. A real treat is a DIY hand scrub. As well as smelling amazing, it will exfoliate, removing damaged and dead skin cells, making your hands soft and just look and feel better. Here are my favorite DIY hand scrubs:

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Chocolate Hand Scrub

No you can’t eat it – you’ll just have to be content with the delicious smell. As well as tasting great, the caffeine in chocolate stimulates circulation and blood flow. Be sure to use dark chocolate powder because it contains antioxidants which increase skin elasticity and reduces skin ageing.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp cocoa powder
½ cup oil of your choice
1 tsp vanilla extract
To make:
Put the sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla in a bowl. Gradually add the oil, mixing as you go. When it is a thick paste, put into a lidded container.

Almost as good topically as it is for your innards, green tea is loaded with antioxidants and has antibacterial properties.

⅛ cup cooled brewed green tea
1 cup granulated sugar
⅛ cup grapeseed oil (or other carrier oil)
1 green tea bag
To make:
Put the sugar and oil in a bowl and gradually add the tea, mixing all the time. When combined, tear open the tea bag and empty the leaves into the mix. Stir to combine. Store in a lidded container in the fridge.
