“Airy romance in layers of chiffon and sprinkles of jewels.” That’s the Nina Ricci look according to New York Fashion. At the label’s 2009 spring collection which was held at the runways of Paris, that is exactly what we’ve seen, although the sprinkles of jewels part is not by any means literal.
Instead, the jewels of the collection come in the clothes themselves.
Let’s see if designer Olivier Theysken lived up to the reputation of the Nina Ricci label.

The designer himself said that he was “…inspired by dance and dresses that each evolved their own shape, short in the front and long in the back.” We’ve seen a lot of those in the collection – and they were all lovely!
I particularly loved the evening gowns with the trail-y skirts and sheer bodice – some of which were draped. I can’t wait to see which Hollywood celeb will sport the items from the Nina Ricci collection before the year ends.

WHEN are these designers going to STOP using obscenely thin models? This is not healthy, and designers perpetuate the idea (with the media’s help) that a ’skin and bones’ look is ideal - most of us look at these photos and think ‘how sad for these girls!’
