My Hip Book Review

My Hip Book Review

I just read a new book called From The Hips. It’s a pregnancy guide for the modern woman but also gives simple advice for when the baby is born. Very easy to read with colorful pictures, this would be a great gift for a friend who has a bun in the oven and probably is in panic mode because she has no idea how a seven pound baby will fit out of “there”.

Compared to the boring seventies-type books containing black and white photos of kids crying while wearing polyester, this one has cute illustrations. I learned some interesting facts such as that clay bottles were found circa 3,500. Isn’t that cool? Images of cave women sitting around bonfires talking about clay bottle feeding or breastfeeding came into my head.

Check out the web site From The Hips. You can also read the authors’ online column on Babble.
