4. Prada Tendre

Description: Tendre is a creation reminiscent of Prada’s signature women’s fragrance that translates each of the four main, iconic ingredients at their true origins into a compelling, luminescent scent with hypnotic impact.

Style: Classic. Pure. Hypnotic.

Average Price: $53 – $107 at sephora.com

My Comments: This is one of my best friend’s all time favorite perfumes. I love the way it smells in winter. It’s a more mature scent, enveloping and elegant, but it suits wonderfully my best friend who just turned 22!

6. Gucci Envy Me

Description: Envy me was created for the woman who demands attention. This dazzling blend of sensual peony, jasmine, and pink pepper is melded with notes of sweet litchi and effervescent pomegranate and pineapple, and smoothed with soothing musk, white tea, and warm woods, is guaranteed to make her the object of desire.

Notes: Peony, Jasmine, Pink Pepper, Litchi, Pomegranate, Pineapple, Pink Musk, Seringa, White Tea, Sandalwood, Teakwood, Sensual Musk.

Style: Daring. Sexy. Arresting.

Average price: $42 – $82 at sephora.com

My Comments: I tried Envy Me by Gucci out of curiosity – and I’ve fallen in love with it ever since. It is not offensive and intrusive in any way. It has lightly sweet feminine scent. It’s a nice surprise of pineapple and some lychee harboring in the background. Though it is not as distinctive as Envy, Envy Me is a must-have to your floral-fruity collection.

7. Givenchy Very Irresistible Givenchy

Description: Homage to Givenchy’s early days when fashion and cinema were intertwined, Very Irresistible Givenchy, unites the elegant tradition of French style with the energy and pop-culture pizzazz of American film. Bursting with roses and infused with star anise, and verbena leaf, Very Irresistible Givenchy is a fresh departure from the traditional floral fragrance.

Notes: Centifolia Rose, Peony Rose, Fantasia Rose, Passion Rose, Emotion Rose, Verbena Leaf, Star Anise.

Style: Vibrant. Brilliant. Captivating.

Average price: $45 – $70 at sephora.com

My Comments: I know, I know… I just quoted Coco Chanel about women not smelling like a rose thing – but believe me when I say that I wouldn’t mind smelling like “this kind of rose.” Very Irresistible Givenchy contains five types of rose and other ingredients that scream femininity. This scent is perfect for ladies who want stand up and let their inner goddesses out – I’m a woman, hear me roar!

So the next time you ask yourself “What’s the best perfume for the winter time?” try out some of these choices.

Mmm.. Beyond Paradise from Estee Lauder (right in top photo) is my all time favorite scent.. Besides Escada’s Pacific Paradise (hehe, coincidence that both of my faves have “paradise” in the name!), it’s the only scent I ever wear.

Can someone please explain to me why they no longer make womanswear by alexander julian? I can not understand why they would take the all time best off the markwt.

My all time favorite as got to be Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. It works great for daytime and nighttime wear.
For a guy Gio has got to be the greatest! Not to heavy and not too light. Works great for work and Tommy for men for night.
For a guy the cologne he wears needs to be something that if
you are standing next to him, if just reaches out to you and
calls to you, not drown you in it!

    Dear Tyra,

It IS frustrating… :( If only they were substituting those great products with something better, but no… I have no idea why companies do that!

    Gilnar,
Are you looking for a warm, woodsy fragrance for women??

  16. 16 Gravatar Icon Gilnar, 09/30/09 at 12:03 am

Yes Sheila, I am. There was an old perfume called cashmire, if I recall correctly, anyhow, yes woodsy and warm, can you help? Thanks

  17. 17 Gravatar Icon Olga Moore, 09/30/09 at 11:45 pm

    Hi Gilnar,

I think Woody Oriental is what you are looking for. I personally love Prada, but there are plenty more to choose from. Please take a look at this page, I am sure you’ll find what you are looking for:

My favorites are Paris Hilton’s ‘Fairy Dust’ (though it doesn’t seem to last all day), and ‘Diamonds’ by Emporio Armani. Though I don’t have that large of a perfume collection.

  20. 20 Gravatar Icon Sheila, 10/9/09 at 7:04 pm

    Stephanie,
Thank you for those suggestions. I wouldn’t try Fairy Dust because I’m biased against Paris enough to not try it but I’ll definitely give Diamonds a shot. :)
