Jil Sander devotees are sharp suiters. Streamlined, clean concepts are always expected and for Fall designer Raf Simons delivered.

Understated yes, boring no. Really, when I viewed this collection it had a calming effect. Necklines were experimental: boatneck, draped, one shoulder and the house's signature turtleneck. Precise daywear in muted colors, with a splash of grape, white and what I call 'Jil Sander cobalt blue,' were starkly beautiful. The top and skirt sets weren't anything special but the coats and ...
