Of late, quintessential Marc Jacobs involves little guesswork: there’s the omnipresent quilting, the metallic hues, the chain handles and the resident push-lock. So it’s with no great surprise that spring finds the designer ushering in the Patchwork Multipocket. Awash in a shade of dull slate, this leather bag is more of the same, with nothing new or creative to get MJ fanatics too excited. The quilted patchwork lacks elegance, and even the smatterings of gold hardware can’t do much to save the bag. The designer has even taken to recreating his Stam in a variety of less-than-glam colors, like pale green. The recent offerings have been disappointing, and this is just one more to add to the bunch.
