I noticed that I can eat a huge popcorn in the movies and still go to get some desert afterwards, but I can hardly finish a bowl of pop corn when I watch a movie at home. I think when you actually see how much food you are eating, you are more likely to feel full faster.

15. Regularly vary your activities, so you don’t get bored …
We all know what we are not likely to lose much weight the healthy way without exercise, but we also know how boring the exercise routine might get. So what I do, is I weekly change the order of the exercises, and the music I am doing them to, just to keep things fresh and more exciting. And it works! :)
16. De stress …
Develop strategies that calm you down before you get to the stage that you need ‘cheering up’, as you are likely to do this with food. I take a few minutes every four hours to breathe deeply and calm myself down. Listening to some favorite music or looking at your favorite photos where you were happy helps a lot too! 17. Eat at home …
Well, first of all it’s cheaper, and second of all, you will hardly find a restaurant that would serve you healthy organic food. And the last, but not least, when eating at home, you can make your portion as small as you like, as those huge dishes they serve in the restaurant do not really help us lose weight, do they?
18. Plan healthy snacks …
I find that if I take a healthy low calorie snack to work, yogurt or fruit, for instance, I’m much less likely to buy chocolate from the vending machine.
19. Pick a high fiber breakfast cereal, as this will fill you up for longer …
And try to have as much fiber as you possibly can, it cleans out our digestive system, so the more of it you have the better!
20. Take a ten minute stroll during your lunch hour …
Or better yet, go for a little slow walk after lunch. This will keep your metabolism going, and i find that it stops me feeling tired early afternoon too!
21. Plan your week’s meal in advance, so you aren’t tempted by take-aways …
This way you will be able to do your groceries knowing what exactly you’ll be having each day. Which means, there will be less spoiled products at the end of the week and you won’t have to run to the grocery store in the middle of the week for something you suddenly decided to have.
22. Distract yourself from cravings …
I noticed that watching a favorite sitcom or flipping through fashion magazines with tones of skinny gorgeous models helps the most. I also treat myself to a cappuccino or a latte when I get a chocolate craving and it always goes away.
23. Reward yourself …
Make sure that you reward yourself when you lose weight, but not with food! Try new clothes, accessories, salon treatments or an outing with friends. Buying new beauty products as a treat works best for me!
So, now that you know my 20 best tips, your weight loss should go much smoother and healthier! Make sure you still use them when you get to your target, as it’s easy to slip into old habits.

I want to loose weight and exercise but my work requires a hard day shift and when I finish I feel so exhausted that can not do it. What can I do?

To Shirley Morales – As for the workout, Girl, you have to coffee-up (literally, 1 cup of coffee about 2 hours before your workout will do), find a source of inspiration (like: “I really really REALLY want to go to Rio de Janeiro next summer and wear a super tiny bikini”), and finally, you need to give yourself and your body about 2 hours of the day to workout. Also, I strongly suggest you workout in the morning (5 am or 6 am) because the day may get complicated and you might not be able to workout in the afternoon or night. As for the diet, go easy on soda (even light!!), pasta, bread, sugar and salad toppings. Start by cutting your daily intake by half, and two or three weeks in, 80%.
Trust me, the payoff for waking up really early to exercise and passing on lasagnia is absolutely worth it.

That’s a great piece of advice! I absolutely agree on cutting the daily intake by half – it works wonders! When in a restaurant it often helps to ask the waiter divide your meal in half before it even makes to the table – so that you eat half and take home another half and have something for the next day too!

As for the workout routines, I found one that works great for me and my husband and it takes only 7 minutes a day. It’s called 7 Shapely Secrets and can be found online, but if you don’t want to spend any money, I’ll gladly share in the comments what the exercises are and how to do them properly – I do it 3-4 times a week and the results are amazing! Much better than the 30 minute workouts with an instructor in the gym…

I am trying to lose weight. I am eating right, watching my intake, going to to gym but the only thing that seems to be getting smaller are my boobies. What can I do to help flap turn into flat.
Here is another tip – drink lots of water. Perhaps tea, if you like that drink. Thing is, snack hunger can often be curbed by drinking a glass of water. Sure, you may need to go to the bathroom more often than normal, but so what? You will consume less calories, hence you lost weight if you have some patience.

I agree with Maria that drinking water is another really good, easy tip for aiding weight loss. Not only is water needed to help with carbohydrate and fat metabolism in the body, but if you stick to water instead of fruit juices, pop or coffee you'll be eliminating lots of sneaky, hidden calories from your daily life.
im trying to drop 3-4 dress sizes,, i eat healthy, and am finding the exercise im doing is comming to no avail. am i better off doing exercise in the mornings for 40mins rather than at evening? and anyone got any tips on breathing while doing jogging? thankies

Have you tried any of the tips mentioned here? These tips are healthy and they will not have an adverse effect on your teen body. One thing though, do you eat your breakfast? Most teens I know skip breakfast. This leads to over-eating. Make sure that you eat 3 meals a day, as Kati mentioned. :)
Oh yeah, you should never go into the starvation diet.

I agree with the other suggestions of drinking lots of water. Many of us walk around dehydrated, plus often we reach for something to eat, but if we reached for a drink of water instead we would eat a lot less!

I have tried to lose weight before, but I get easily dis-heartened and it takes a lot for me to get motivated but heck, when I get motivated I really do get going, I just need to find a way to always be motivated.

MY name is Jade and i have seriously tried to lose wieght for a couple of years now. I’m 19 and everything i try just doesn’t help. I’m really fussy with food and even when i do eat well and workout 5 times a week, i see nothing.

Sweetie, looks like the exercise routine you’ve picked and the diet you’ve been on is not working for you. Do you have a gym nearby? Ask a personal trainer to put together an exercise program for you that will be change every 3 weeks or so – otherwise your body would just get accustomed to the workout and will no longer show any improvements. The personal trainer can also advise you on foods you should be eating. Perhaps you might want to make those portions twice as little. And make sure you do not eat any sweets, pastry or junk food, soda included.

Well I can only say that you need to push yourself more. You know how when you’re exercising and you reach this plateau and you can’t seem to lose any more weight after that? Maybe that’s whats happeing with you. Don’t starve yourself ofcourse. But try more challenging activities. Mix it up and see if that helps. Good luck! :)
