Keep those Hunger Pangs from Getting the Best of you

If you’ve ever felt the need to eat like a horse because you skipped lunch or dinner the other night – watch out. This can easily result to a binge episode, which will lead you to gain back all those excess pounds that you’ve been working so hard to keep off.

Here are some quick fixes – foods which will fill you up real fast – so that you can resist the lure of turning into a Mrs. Cookie Monster 

Go for instant oatmeal bars which do not just taste great but are also power-packed with protein, fibers and whole grains.

Instead of canned fruit juice, go for the real thing. A few slices of pineapple will fill you up more than one of those canned fruit juice varieties.

Eat four or more light, mini-meals throughout the day, rather than three full, heavy meals.

Start your meal with one cup of soup so that you’ll feel fuller, sooner.

Steer clear of temptation. When going to the break room, avert your eyes or hold your breath to steer clear of the sight and smell of that just-baked muffin!

Thanks for the tips! As a runner, I like to eat fruit and vegetables during the day as snacks. They are often full of fiber and nutrients, while not having so many calories.

Here’s a couple of more tips for healthy low-calorie snacks:

    Dried peas
    Carrots
    Cherries
    Hemp hearts
    Dried apricots
    Broccoli
