Joaquin Phoenix definitely has a unique way of announcing his retirement from his acting career. At the American Film Institute Festival last Saturday, the 34-year old actor wrote the words BYE! on the knuckles of his right hand and GOOD on the left.
Okay, that literally looked like Bye Good from a photographer’s point of view – but I think we got the message, lol.
Anyway, the actor attended the event which premiered “Che”, a film starring Benicio del Toro and directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Joaquin officially announced his retirement – from the acting industry, at least – in an event honoring the late great Paul Newman. I guess those words on his knuckles can be considered a follow up.
So what is Joaquin focusing on instead? He actually wants to pursue a career in music! I guess he discovered his affinity for music when he learned to play the guitar and had to do his own singing for the film “Walk the Line”.
Hmmm… I have a feeling that this retirement thing is just temporary. What do you think?

I think he may have some problems and I think it’s a shame because he’s a great actor…loved Walk the Line and Signs…but wasn’t he in rehab recently? Maybe he should revisit.
