Gimme a break! There is no way that a natural childbirth would be that calm, Zen or silent.
As far as I know, the entire delivery room would be in a chaos: with the future dad (especially the first timers) most likely passing out from nervousness while trying to calm their practically screaming wives. That’s the real picture of a natural childbirth, ladies and gentlemen - screaming, yelling, baby crying - that’s the truth behind the miracle of birth, thank you very much.

I was in the room with one of my friends, she had natural childbirth and um… she didn’t scream. It definatly wasn’t complete chaos, everyone in the room was calm. Natural Childbirth can be done without screaming and calmly… child birth varies from person to person. Another friend of mine wasn’t so calm, everyone in the room was but her that time… I can believe not screaming… meditation might a little far.. but I can believe no screaming and everything being calm…

Well… I think it depends. I was outside the room when my cousin gave birth to her first child and trust me… she didn’t scream. She just had the luck to have an easy birth. She said that she felt like (excuse the comparison) being on the toilette.
Anyway I don’t believe there was such a Zen atmosphere. The doctors are always in a rush (but also careful), they just don’t have the time for the hole Zen thing.
But that may be the only lie Jessica told. i really think it’s possible not to scream when giving birth, you just have to be lucky (like my cousin). Byebye!
Lala, you are right! I asked my Mom and she said she never screamed either, she said it was painful, but not THAT painful. I guess, it’s all about the way the person in labour deals with pain. Well, those are good news, right? We both might have an easy birth too! :)
I am pretty sure that women can give birth without screaming at all, my mother delivered my middle sister without pain or screaming. However she is a celebrity how calm could things actually have been? She was not a ordinary person just having a baby, she is a celebrity, you have to worry about paparazzi, complications, and giving her privacy. Like it or not all eyes are on her due to her status, so any little thing that might come up that seems out of the ordinary is going to be cause for alarm because after all you don’t want any bad press. Unless she gave birth at home I doubt things were so peaceful and clam.
