Guardian Technologies Manual Ultrasonic Humidifier

Why should I use a humidifier? People need a certain level of humidity to be comfortable. In the winter, indoor humidity can be extremely low and the lack of humidity can dry out your skin and mucous membranes. Low humidity also makes the air feel colder than it actually is. Dry air can also dry out the wood in the walls and floors of our houses. As the drying wood shrinks, it can cause creaks in floors and cracks in drywall and plaster. Dry air also increases static electricity.

Does the product require regular cleaning? Regular cleaning is recommended. However, the Germ Guardian Manual (H-2000) humidifier has nano-silver technology in the water tank which helps to prevent microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses from growing in the water that is vaporized.

When storing the unit, it is recommended to pour any excess water out of the unit and clean it with a damp, soft cloth. Let dry completely before storing.

Are there any wicks or evaporating pads to replace? No. There are not any wicks or pads to replace.

What is ultrasonic technology? An ultrasonic humidifier uses a metal diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency to create water droplets. Thanks to ultrasonic technology the Germ Guardian™ humidifier is virtually silent when running, making it easy to have on while you sleep.

What is Nano-Silver technology and why is it used in your humidifier? Throughout history, silver has been recognized as one of the most efficient germicides known. Silver is known to kill some 650 species of bacteria or viruses simply by coming into contact with them. Now small particles of silver (1 billionth of a meter) can be used efficiently as an antimicrobial agent in products. Germ Guardian™ chose to use nano-silver in the water tank of the H-2000 to help prevent the growth of microbes in the water such as bacteria, viruses and fungi. Therefor the water in the tank is free of contaminants and healthy vapor is sent out into the air.

Where should I use the product? It is recommended that you place the product up and not on the floor. Placing it on a table or nightstand during operation is suggested.

What is a comfortable humidity level? Fifty-five to sixty-five percent humidity is considered within the comfortable range. Any humidity level below thirty percent is considered dry.

What temperature is the water at for cold and warm humidification? Cold humidification the water is maintained at forty degrees Fahrenheit. For warm humidification the water is maintained at righty degrees Fahrenheit to disinfect low temperature bacteria.

How do I choose warm or cold humidification? Choosing warm or cold humidification is based on your preference. Warm moisture tends to make the air in the room feel warmer due to the warm vapor being released into the air. In contrast, cool moisture generally has the opposite effect, causing the air to feel cooler.

Therefor, if you live in a warm climate, you may prefer a cool moisture humidifier, while those who live in colder climates may prefer a warm moisture humidifier.

Do I need to heat the water first if I want to have warm humidification? No. It is recommended to put room temperature water into the tank for humidifying. The Germ Guardian™ humidifier will heat and maintain the water temperature at eighty degrees for warm humidification.

Do I need to put in a certain type of water for my humidifier to work? You can use either distilled or regular tap water. If you have a high mineral content in your tap water, it may be preferable to use distilled water. Since distilled water is likely to contain lower mineral content than most tap water it will prevent less build-up.
