In my mid-30's I went to an allergist to told me I was allergic to wheat and other grains, but mostly wheat. I stopped eating it, bought alternatives - there are quite a few on the market - for bread, cereal, etc. A great benefit is the lack of hunger! Weight dropped off. Now,if I "cheat" once in a while, have a luscious piece of warm sourdough with butter (yum), the next morning, there they are: the puffy eyes, the dark circles, and it takes till about 3:00 in the afternoon for me to feel normal again. Wheat's in so many things - but it's pretty easy to find things that are just as satisfying without all the negatives on your system. Oh and guess what?
