Well, Denmark is my country and we had an Exchange student from New York, he Said that Denmark is Such an expensive country. So I guess Copenhagen should be there. A haircut in Denmark cost around 100$ for girls and 50$ for men. Even the clothing is expensive, I found New York quite cheap, I've just been there.
everything is expensive if you buy things at places where a lot of tourists visit. Most of the local shops in Singapore do sell things that you are loooking for and plus, it is cheap. Same quality, same thing, but diff prices. Don't forgt to check for the expiry dates too! (btw, a coca cola can drink only cost about SGD$1+ in most of the local shops in SG). One of the reasons why cars in Sg are extremely expensive because to prevent traffic jams i guess? Sg is a very small city and we do not have enough lands to build more roads... and houses too. So it is also the reason why houses in Sg are expensive too. 😔
I agree singapore is crazy expensive we went there for a 3 night stop over before heading to thailand, omg!! Taxis and accomidation pricey!! Food was cheap thou. Australia is expensive but you are on a good hourly wage!! ;)
for everyone who is wondering why their hometown isn't in the article, here is the link to the original list. It also provides a little insight into how the list is created. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/picturegalleries/9554951/The-worlds-most-expensive-cities.html
Singapore is expensive if you want to live in private housing in the prime district, want to own a car, dine in fancy restaurants, buy soft drinks at tourists areas spots. if you live in the suburbs/heartlands as we call it here, take public transport, cook your own food, drink water from the tap..then it is not expensive.
Indeed London has super crazy rents but also salaries are sometimes really high. but not always :/ there are lots of people still earring close to minimum wage !
Singapore! But the prices are actually a result of government policies and not so much for how much they are actually worth. I can't explain the price of a can of coke though. Lol.
I am surprised Tokyo isn't on the list... Average prices for a small one bedroom apartment can cost 1600$ USD! And eating out... One person is like $20 easy.
Singaporean here 😌 tbh, it's not the cars that are expensive it's the documents to get the car that costs WAYY more than a car and it's only the city area residential that's expensive, cos they are all condos and such, technically if you leave in a neighborhood it's 2x cheaper
Yup I'm residing in Singapore and the cost of living is really high. Google Certificate of Entitlement (COE) of Singapore. You need to pay thousands of dollars for this paper before you can even own a car here :/
I think car prices in Asia are generally high. London isn't as expensive as $ 109 dollars or there's always Oxford street. And you can get apartments a lot less than that too. But I guess it's an average. Shanghai would probably be one of the cheapest hahs.
Toronto is starting to get crazy expensive as well. With all it's condos. When I was really small, a 2 bedroom apartment was like $900. Now it's nearly $1200 and a bachelor or a 1 bedroom is near $1000 or $900. 😰
