I find it amusing that almost all of the tips advise you to wear classic pieces in neutral colors yet the corresponding pictures show trendy pieces in bright colors. :)

It is ironic that while the article advises against trends, the word it loved to use, "fashionable", means to keep up with prevailing styles of dress. To blindly confirm to this list would be the worst trend. Some of these make great sense but not the others. I would much rather wear that bright shirt I love than try to stick to neutral colors I don't like, just to please the crowd. Enjoying looking at your own outfit is always more important than letting others enjoy looking at you.
