You probably should included that the price of your flight to get there is not included in your figures. That is what deters a lot of ppl in the US from traveling to Asia to volunteer. I'm going to Thailand and Vietnam in December and the cheapest flight is 1600.00 for far to Thailand and then I have to pay to get to Vietnam. I hope all will go because your article is great!! And the people over there need us!!

@Shauna, you just search for them online. I was going to put in some links but it really depends on where you live because opportunities vary so much - in location as well as price. But, trust me, just search for any that take your fancy - you'll find more than enough to consider. just search on a term such as "Malaysia zoo volunteer" and don't just stick to the ones I mentioned. Even just searching on "volunteer in Asia" will yield you pages and pages of results. Hope that helps.
