It's obvious when I get the catalogs that at the very least, the models' busts have been digitally enhanced. Thanks to my mama, I wear a 32DD, sometimes F, and VS only carries limited styles that fit me. So naturally, I am confused by these models with a band to cup ratio that looks like mine wearing every style. Either the pictures are manipulated, or the bras are for just the models, which would be unfair. Please VS, if you are going to show your 32DD looking models wearing the pretty bras, make them in that size!!!
Kylie is a bitter bitch. She wrote the book for attention, since VS didn't want to hire her. They never offered her a "multi million dollar contract". She was an amature, and VS doesn't hire amatures. Such an attentionwhore.. When i saw her name in the post i honestly thought it was her that had written it to feed her ego and increase booksales.
I love what you said about not aspiring to be a VS model anymore though. I completely agree that you should not do nor aspire of things that are gonna end up making you unhappy and might turn you into a monster. π Much Love β₯οΈ
Bisutti hold so much hatred against VS. Though I do know that a lot of these are true, she made them sound completely evil. She wasn't even a VS model in the first place, she joined a competition, which means they had to work extra hard. The things she wrote were dramatized, the lifestyles of these VS models are pretty obvious since they themselves declare this to the world. Lastly, them having a trainer is true, for guidance and fitness, but completely controlling their eating habits? Complete bull. Other than that, great post! π
Everyone knows about the tan, extensions, workouts, and photoshop. They show all of that on YouTube. She knew what she was getting herself into and I personally think it's bull. Seeing her walk the runway was so embarrassing to even watch. The way she kept doing that thing with her mouth open... Ugh. And frankly I think it was just an excuse and her ticket to getting famous. Sorry.
VS model's body type represent about 1-2% of the nations body type amongst adult women, I wouldn't think it's reasonable for majority of us to aim for the goals they set. But they knew what line of work they signed up for and the body scrutiny that comes with it (its only expected that they go to such extremes). I mean, if you were getting paid millions to be thin and "beautiful" around the clock what would you have to do to maintain that image?
Some facts I knew already but Victoria secret models look so perfect in the runway and little girls can picture them self doin the Victoria Secret Show something so amazing can be hard it's never easy
@dodecahedron, Well they are beautiful. You can't say they're not, but I see beautiful women everywhere everyday. They're just put on a pedestal because they are models. A little too skinny in my opinion though, I will say that.
Not a surprise. They are also paid a lot of money to do what they do.
This should be taught or told to guys who think that all women should look like VS models. It puts a lot of pressure on women today to be and look like them, when in reality it's all fake!
Sure those women are gorgeous, but I rather eat, work out my way, live my life the way it was meant to be, than look like them, or be a model.
It's their job to look like that, not mine. If I was paid their salary to prance around in panties and bras all day, then that's another question.
Plus I think I do just fine and look pretty damn good in my own body with the VS panties & bras! βΊοΈ
No surprise here. It's their job to look good therefore you have to make certain sacrifices to do so. Not just VS models but any individuals in the industry of beauty have to watch what they eat and how they look. Again, part of the job.
Everyone needs to read this article and the book because women, teenagers, little girls try to be "model perfect". And sometimes killing themselves to look like this. This just shows that everyone, even VS models, have flaws. Embrace your imperfections!
In all honestly, most of the things listed are par for the course in the modeling and entertainment industry today. It's all part of selling an image, which is the whole purpose of a model. Not every personality is cut out for it.
As someone who knows show business really well, none of this is shocking, and it really shouldn't be to anyone else. Do you really expect them to go down the runway completely natural, and not work out or eat healthily?
If people want to be a VS model great, but i dont think anyones should look up to them. You can look like someone in pictures if thats not even how they really look.
