Traveling alone has been the best experience I've had in life. You learn a lot & you end up meet so many people who think you are brave, & they alway wish they could do it.
@Emmarachelmay Do it! I'm also an introvert and in 2010 I travelled to South America alone to volunteer and loved it so much that I did the same in Africa the following year. I could type essay explaining why it was the best experiences of my life and how much you won't regret it but I'd be here all day, my advice is just do it!! Xx
This is perfect timing to read this article. I am planning to travel by train to Portland by myself this new year and take on a city with no ties! 🎫🚞
Thank you so much for this post!! I'm quite an introvert myself and i've been thinking about going to africa to volunteer with children and i've been quite afraid to go on my own as my friends would rather go on clubbing holidays! But this has really motivated me! So i'm going to book my volunteer holiday this month! Thanks again!! Xx
I totally agree! I went on my first backpacking trip solo last year & I loved the whole experience of being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want. I'm an introvert myself & many of my friends and relatives were in disbelief when I told them of my adventures.
I've gained so much from it and I hope more people can experience it too.Thank you for sharing this article. :)
Thanks for these tips. I am planning a trip alone this January, I wasn't sure if it'll be a good idea to go on my own as I've never been on holiday all by myself. I'm looking forward to it now after reading your blog. :)
I've just done it last November for 3,5 weeks and every single advantage mentioned is this article happened to me. I was working like hell, sleeping just enough to be able to work and seeing friends after work. Not really taking time for myself and got very unhappy about life. One point on my bucket list was to see the lightening of the Rockefeller Tree. So my last stop of traveling the USA was in NYC, seeing the whole pre-show and together with thousands of people the lightening of this huge tree. Brought tears in my eyes and made me feel I've reached one of my biggest goals.
I stayed in hostels and met so many special people that I can only recommend traveling by yourself even once in your lifetime :)
Go, save your money, take some time off and explore the world :)
