How many times have you looked at a magazine and saw some of the “fashions” that are in there and thought to yourself: “Where in the world would anyone wear THAT?”
Well if you’re anything like me - you ask that all the time!
I love fashion as much as the next woman, a gold dress that looks like it was previously balled up in the corner is not my idea of fashion - even if it’s Prada… (see picture).
I think the magazines need to post pictures of real affordable fashions I can wear to work that won’t have me choosing between feeding my daughter or looking good. And second… I’m not a super model type woman, so how about some fashions for women with curves? Am I right ladies?
Let me know what you think…

I absolutely agree. To be honest it’s amazing how far fashion has gotten, and the only reason for that are celebs. (who else would wear a feathered dress? Where am I gonna wear it!?)*shrugs* What about the rest of us?? Don’t get me wrong, as an artist, some of the stuff is just- Gorgeous, nice lines, great colors. but wearing it is another thing- I guess it WOULD be different if everyone could afford the stuff they come up with, but still. As for women with curves- and being one myself- I totally understand that. What they don’t seem to get is the whole ‘happy medium’. I believe it was in Paris they had a show that was for ‘heavier women’ and it was to the EXTREME, so is it that or the EXTREME of being skinny? Can’t we just have some meat on our bones, a happy medium??
This PRADA gold dress is GORGEOUS………this is what real fashion is all about………….it’s art & creativity!!!
If you want something simple…go to the mall!!!
I must agree though that the models are too skinny….but don’t knock the clothes because they’re not your taste.
This PRADA collection is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I don’t like the dress either.
And I believe they should have some, I dunno AVERAGE HEIGHT models these days?
How many girls are actually 5′7″ and 5′8″ and have the look Twiggy used to in the ’60’s?
Not many.
Most women are rather petite and short and One in 10 are actually “skinny”, most women have curves and some meat to them!
And I know the fashion industry says they “need skinny, tall models” because “makes the clothes look better” but frankly, I rarely see an outfit on the runway that looks like it even fits RIGHT on the model and that doesn’t make ME want to go buy it, or something like it.
So we should get models who actually reflect REAL women!
And make them, more affordable for this economy.
I shouldn’t have to chose between clothes and if I want to have food to eat.
