MASLOW'S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS/ORIGIN:

This hierarchy was created by Abraham Maslow in order to understand what motivates people.

EXPLANATION:

This pyramid shows the needs of a human being.

The things to the bottom are basic needs, while the ones toward the top are "optional." Once one is satisfied with one of the levels, he/she will want to move up to fulfill the next.

EXAMPLE:

After the unfortunate car accident, Toby could not even complete the lowest level of the Hierarchy of Needs without help.
