Do Louboutin’s Red Soles Still Touch Your Soul?

It’s a common knowledge in the fashion world that the sexiest foot wear comes with red soles and a Christian Louboutin logo on it.

But is it just me or Louboutin started to suck? The shoes are not the way they used to be – just some 5 years ago each and every single pair of Christian Louboutin shoes was a subject of love and worship of everyone I know and today it’s just … shoes. Expensive, high quality shoes. Period.

Is it just me or did Louboutin lose it?

Anyway, here are some shoes from the previous Louboutin Fall-Winter 2007-2008 Collection (5 of them at the top ) – the ones that you might be getting with a decent percent off now.

Purple Ostrich

These ones look OK, kind of remind me of the Louis Vuitton’s shoes in their SS-08 ad. By the way, do you have any idea where one can buy those – there is no single track of them on the net, not even at their Louis Vuitton Boutique. Another fashion mystery!

Black Suede

I would get these ones if I worked in the office – must admit these Louboutins are perfect – so perfect it hurts to look at them too long – oh, my eyes, my eyes – have to look away!

Ivory Python

These Louboutin’s look good too, but somehow I think they will look better on my Mom or my college professor.

Orange Patent

Orange is good, patent is good, platform is good, but these Orange Patent are ba-a-ad. Somehow these shoes manage to look hideous, I wonder if Louboutin makes all the scatches himself…

Burgundy Kid

I would have loved these if they were in pink or violet or bright green or yellow – any bright color would do… what was Christian thinking?

The ones that are available at net-a-porter.com:

And here come the shoes you can actually get online – I picked the cutest and sexiest ones according to myself, so no harsh judgment please.

Catwoman T-bar shoes

I am not quite sure about these shoes, but there is that “je-ne-sais-quoi” somewhere there… don’t you think? Must be the T-bar.

Privatita Platform Slingbacks

These ones are cute, too neutral, but cute.

Privatita Pumps

And speaking of attitude – these black patent ones got a hell of an attitude! R-r-r! Me likey!!!

Rodita Zip Platforms

Looks like zips are huge this season, I wonder if Louboutin borrowed the idea from Sergio Rossi.

Passmule Zeppa Wedges

Ok, you are right, when you look at them in this picture you go “what the hell?” but when you see them on a mannequin they do not look half bad, honest, and that refreshing color – I just could not pass by!

Exi Metallic Flats

I am not a big fan of flats, but these flats look chic!

Rosazissimo Feather Shoes

These shoes are something Carrie from Sex and the City would wear, they look like fun, but I am not sure there are many women out there who would want to pay a fortune for fabric and feather shoes, even if they come with a red sole.

N. Prive Fabric Slingbacks

Cute, very summerie! I practically hear them screaming: “yacht!”, “Cote d’Azur!”, “St.Tropez!” :)

loubout9.jpg

Very Prive pumps

Oh, these sparkly Louboutins have Prive written all over them. Great pumps to rock that very fab party!

loubout10.jpg

Marisandal Flats

Again, not being a big fan of flats, could not but notice these Marisandals – the most glamourous flats I’ve seen in a long time!

loubout11.jpg

Well, what can I say, some of those red soles are very cute, but it feels like Louboutin could do better. Don’t you think?

There is no doubt that the ever growing cultof celebrity in both the UK and here in the US has led to the more people wanting to own designer shoes hardly a week goes by without some women’s magzine calling for its reader s to get shoes like kylie or like cat moss
