People.com gave us a sneak peek at the new Gucci jewelry ads featuring Claire Danes. The announcement that Claire will be replacing Drew Barrymore as the face of Gucci Fine Jewelry was announced late April of this year.

Frida Giannini said that “Claire’s sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today’s Gucci woman.”

When you place the old and new ads side by side, Drew clearly has the edge when it comes to the ’sensual’ factor – probably because her eyes are a lot more sultry than Claire’s.

Anyway, for me, Claire still did a fine job. After, she’s only the second celebrity face to have the honor of representing the fab jewelry line of Gucci. Way to go, girl!
