If purple is considered to be the new black this fall-summer season – the makeup trend is going a tad of a shade deeper. When it comes to sporting that model-like pout, go for dark – really dark lips!

So what are the lip shades which are considered fab? Try any of the following:

• Dark Aubrey
• Chocolate shades
• Deep/glossy/dark/matte shades
• Ultra-dark red
• Burgundy
• Black/coffee shades
• Bold black cherry

To pull off the dark lip look, you can first outline the mouth with a dark liner. Blend the color towards the center of the lips. Use a lip brush to apply a deep-tone lipstick, fill in the lines and blend well. Lastly, apply a lip mattifier to get rid of the shine. Ultra-glam, dark red lips in an instant!

Oh – and before I forget – dark lips look great against light skin – so keep that makeup base on the lightest shade which will complement your skin tone.
