As a self-confessed fish and seafood lover, I am really pleased with this study that says regularly eating non-fried fish may help preserve memory and prevent the occurrence of stroke. Researchers say that 3 or more weekly helpings of baked or broiled tuna and other types of fish high in omega-3 fatty acids are less likely to develop “silent” brain lesions that can lead to stroke. Welcome news indeed!

Foods to Eat:
- Every day, consume at least one pound of fresh animal foods, including poultry, organ meats, beef, lamb, goat, fish, or shellfish of all kind. Rotate animal foods - for example, eat a leg of lamb on Monday, salmon steak on Tuesday, roast chicken on Wednesday, beef stew on Thursday, stuffed fish heads on Friday, calve liver on Saturday, and a nice Sunday roast at the end of the week.

I've been wanting to make a seafood soup for a while and when I came across this recipe for a mussel and chorizo soup in the current issue of Food & Wine magazine, I knew I had to make it.
Made with Spanish flavors, the combination of mussels and chorizo is excellent and the delicious broth " a fragrant blend of clam juice, cream, and saffron " requires extra bread for dipping.

A couple of weeks ago, while at a friend's birthday party, I had an unbelievable shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was marinated in a thick sauce flavored with hoisin and orange juice. Just before serving, it was rapidly cooked in a large sauté pan. A heavy sprinkling of cilantro and green onions complete the dish.
