Try this it's brilliant.
I decided today that I needed a new picture of myself on the sidebar so after applying the old slap to the face I did a whole load of pictures of myself. It was hard at first as you feel a bit of an idiot smiling at yourself but after a while it became enjoyable.
I have little or no inhibitions in the company of others but by myself I tend not to let ...
Am am off to the big city - Newcastle - today to take my grandaughter Georgia to make a record. We bought her a recording session for her 15th birthday and she is going to record the song she is singing in the semi finals of the talent contest she entered.
I am leaving you with a guided tour of the area around my cottage. Put your wellies on and ENJOY! Pop into the cottage for a cuppa when you ...
Karine and Elodie the two French girls who bought wheredidyoubuythat.com from me almost 2 years ago, announced yesterday, on their fabulous blog, that they are revamping the site and this is the new logo - I LOVE IT.
These girls were so wise to buy the site from me as it enables them to sell more cutting edge products that wouldn't fit into the Bodie and Fou site that they founded. You can see the ...
Tonight we are going to a friend's birthday party and I have been asked to decorate the room with a Valentines theme. The colour scheme is black, red and silver. Now all this is OK but I have bought some red and silver balloons and have hung black/silver ribbons with silver hearts attached. I can vouch for one thing - my balloons won't look like these.
At the weekend we celebrated the Tarset Pie Challenge in our local village hall. 80 PIES had to be tasted, judged then eaten at a huge pie and pea supper afterwards. Then we were expected to dance. The pies entered were out of this world, I soon realised I had no chance of winning. I made Mutton Pie and cut out a cartoon sheep from pastry which looked great until it was cooked and it then looked like ...
On Monday this week we received THE letter from the National Parks telling us that our planning permission had been granted without ANY changes. How brilliant is that?
So I have decided to let you all follow us on our journey into making our tiny cottage into a large cottage. Imagine you get to be there but to never have to clean up any mess.
Above is a mood board for the massive kitchen/dining area that will be ...
Yesterday as you may know I was away for the day. Come on and I'll show you where I went and what I got up to.
The sun shone all day long - lucky me.
First things to negotiate when leaving our cottage, the quick way, are the gates and if you are alone it's no fun.
First stop was the upholsterers to pick up 2 chairs and a footstool for Ghost Furniture. I purchased ...
Today I am off to the upholsterers to pick up some Ghost Furniture then for coffee with my friend Helen Morris of The Stencil Library in her fabulous Georgian Farmouse.
Later I am picking up my 15 year old grand daughter, Georgia (her of singing fame) and taking her to IKEA to buy some storage boxes etc for her bedroom which I have promised to re-organise then treating her to a meal.
Do not fret though I am ...
The plans have been submitted to The National Parks, the first mood board has been done (see top image) and in the Spring we will be starting on the extension to our little cottage. This is a project I can really get my teeth into and barring all the mess it should be a joy.
I will be reporting on its progress in the coming months.
This picture by Banksy certainly makes you think. Study it and you will see what I mean. Yes we need news and disasters and wars need to be reported but how invasive is it? The jury is out on this one.
I was on the BBC last night. Remember last year I did the PR for a Royal Visit (Prince Charles & Camilla) to our area? Well the BBC made a documentary about The Monarchy and included the lead up to and the actual visit. I look as though I am enjoying myself but truth be told I was harassed to hell. You have no idea how tight the security is at these events.
Sorry but we have to stop at the local garage to put oil in the car. The view from here is stunning though. This road leads to a fabulous waterfall.
Ok ready for the off now. That over there is a typical Northumberland cottage. I love it when the leaves start to turn red.
Sshh, this is is private road to one of Northumberland's most beautiful country homes. No closer though or the dogs will ...
The back of my cottage with a stile for walkers to cross
I spent a delightful day in the company (via telephone & email) of Carol Gillott of Paris Breakfasts. She was wanting to put her new banner on her site and was having a bit of trouble. I persuaded her to let me take her over to Blogger 2 and bless her she trusted me. I put up the new banner I have never heard ...
