Calling to mind images of Laura Ashley dresses and picnics in romantic fields, the Kate Spade Miramar Alison has a sort of country-ish sensibility about it. Despite the fact that it also somehow resembles a lunchbox, it projects charm with its kelly green hue, straw-like exterior and printed cotton interior. Very feminine and dainty, it’s not exactly practical, but it has a summery quality that might make it the perfect accessory to pair with - what else? - your long, ...

Much as I enjoy seeing what Kate Spade will come up with next, I feel more and more disillusioned lately by the brand’s latest offerings. Up next is the rather pompous-sounding Melrose Noel Jaydn (Jaydn?! What’s the story there?), inspired by the glamour of Melrose Ave. - that includes in-your-face paparazzo and bratty celebutantes, naturally. Available in silver, orange and pink, this purse’s cheap look isn’t helped by its boarskin-embossed silver trim. Factor in that it doesn’t have a zipper ...
A beautiful finish makes this Kate Spade purse stand out for miles. The Orchard Street Rae is named for the famed Manhattan street, and its personality is just as impressive as its namesake’s. The patent black leather alone would make this a standout (albeit not very original) purse, but it’s the oil slick finish that really raises it to a new level. The effect is cool, especially if you’re a patent handbag lover and need something different to shake things ...

Kate Spade Tarrytown Quinn Handheld Tote
Kate Spade has introduced us to the Tarrytown Quinn handheld tote. This timeless bag is named after a quaint town in New York’s Hudson River Valley. This bag was made to represent the town’s modesty and appeal to many of the nation’s wealthiest and turn of the century, stylish families. This historic town draws in visitors with its natural beauty, grand homes, and ...
Bollywood is glitz, glamour and plenty of color. It’s bright lights and loud music. It’s not this Kate Spade Bollywood Stevie purse. Like most of Spade’s other creations, this bag is inspired by something distinctive, exotic and beautiful - but the end result here doesn’t remotely reflect Bollywood’s eclecticism. It’s a clear purse with colored leather trim and a yellow pocket. It hardly looks like something inspired by India’s wondrous film industry…more like Ocean City. I’m deeply unimpressed. Available ...
This interesting Kate Spade Katy Katherine Paola clutch isn’t going to wow anyone with its incredible beauty, but it’s a great choice if you’re a fan of daytime clutches. Roomy enough to hold just the sort of essentials you would carry in a slim clutch, this purse is low-key in a shade of navy trimmed with gold. The petal-like embellishments on the front are a cute touch, and the strap makes it easy to keep within your grasp. It’s ...
Like the annoying guy who claims to know someone who knows someone who once met Madonna, there’s a certain faux pas involved with name dropping. The same could be conceivably be said for this loud Kate Spade License Plate Canvas Shopper, which holds nothing back in its braggart design. There’s no way even your neighbor down the street could miss Ms. Spade’s name blaring on a kelly green background, and there’s something so boring about a canvas logo bag. That’s ...

WWD: Top 12 Designer Handbag Brands of 2007
WWD recently published their top 12 picks for 2007, and I am so disappointed. I mean who did they interview? Label whores? When I think of last years best sellers, or even memorable bags that could have been found on the lists of thousands of handbag fans, I wouldn’t pick a bag by some of the designers below. Coach number 1? How can that be. And Ralph Lauren? ...
This must be what they mean about love at first sight. This unexpectedly appealing purse comes to us from none other than Kate Spade, a designer whose work I admire but don’t necessarily covet. All that changes, though, with the lovely Andalucia Mini Plie. It’s petite and ladylike, but it still has a relatively hardy look about it due to the rich, ribbon-braided handle. At $345 and available in both red and silver, it’s a beautiful choice for the ...

Did you Know? Kate Spade in 1994
Kate Spade: Considered naming the brand “Olive” and “Alex Noel” but after much thought Kate Brosnahah designed to take her finance’s last name, Spade.
In 1994, just one year after the birth of Kate Spade designer handbags (at the time Kate Brosnahah & Andy Spade), Kate along with her team sold their first batch of Kate Spade signature nylon designer handbags to Barneys, while at the same time working with ...

Kate Spade “Your Designer Handbag is Fake”
Would you ever call anyone out for carrying a replica designer bag? Mrs. Kate Spade would….
In a recent interview with NYTimes, Kate Spade revealed her most recent encounter with a Kate Spade fan carrying a fake designer handbag. “I knew all the bags that were on the street, and this one I didn’t know had hit the street yet, but I knew it wasn’t real. I’m telling you, I ...

Kate Spade Kensington Jocelyn Purse
Kate Spade’s newest family member, the Kensington Jocelyn was named after “one of the loveliest neighborhoods in London. Kensington townhouses are often host to festive cocktail parties and elegant dinner parties. these small evening bags are the perfect accessory for a night on the town.” " Kate Spade
This is one of my favorite Kate Spade creations of all time. It’s designed with a 2-in-1 body style technique, which allows you ...
I don’t know about you ladies, but I am not feeling this Kate Spade Monserrat Mini Anne. Doesn’t this Caribbean-inspired purse look like something your grandma might create given a little time, some fabric, and a glue gun? The hobo - made of shimmering tumbled metallic nappa leather, available in platinum or the sickeningly-sweet violet - features a nice drawstring closure but suffers from the addition of velvet ribbon trim. It’s too frilly and quaint.
