Chicken Cacciatore is Italian-American comfort food at its best. In this classic dish, chicken is slow cooked in a fragrant tomato sauce, with mushrooms and onions, until it falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. While chicken cacciatore is a regular on Italian restaurants menus, it can easily be made in the comfort of your own home.
It's a versatile dish that is delicious over rice, pasta, polenta, or potatoes. I browsed tons of recipes in search ...

We only have one bathroom in our house. Luckily, I work from home and seldom shower so our time conflicts are held to a minimum. Of course, even if I wanted to spend a moment in the bathroom I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. My two small boys see to that. The idea of having quality time in there is just a dream in our house, something that ...

I'll admit it, I'm not afraid. I love meatballs. Hamburgers do nothing for me, but small balls of ground meat in a fragrant sauce are like taking a bite out of heaven! These classic Italian meatballs had me drooling at my desk. They look moist and mouth-watering. â€" Family Style Food

A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend told me about a gorgeous red beet risotto she had seen in a magazine. Inspired, we decided to make one for dinner. We chose this recipe because it pairs the beets with sharp cheddar cheese. The vibrant color of the risotto would be perfect for any Valentine's Day meal â€" especially when served in a heart-shaped dish. The flavor is rich, creamy, and was even well-liked by my beet-hating father. It's not ...

Susanne Crosetto lives in Beijing and is restoring an old Palazzo in Southern Italy. I love to visit her blogs - Palazzo Pizzo and Beijing Notebook to see what she is up to. She needs a medal the size of a frying pan.
I also thinks she needs a medal for mentioning my blog as one of her favourites in a Magazine article (below). Thanks Susanne.

One thing I found out about Milan is that it is not geared to tourists. Everything seems to be a great secret. I had to run up an alleyway to ask someone in an Armani Junior shop to tell me where the big Armani Store was.
On finding the store and with much excitement, for as you know this man is my hero, I entered the shop and of course bought 2 wonderful tops. When I got to ...

Just before Christmas I wrote a post about Rossana Orlandi being The Best Shop in the World. Well on visiting Milan we found said shop (eventually) and I have to take it all back.
1. It had no signs on the outside
2. I had to go in and rummage to find a label with Rossana Orlandi on it to make sure I was in the right place.
3. I was told to go to No ...

We stayed in Bergamo by accident. Our flight didn't arrive until midnight so we decided to stay there the first night as Milan is 50 kilometers away.
On looking for an hotel for that night I searched the web and found that one of the 50 things you should do before you die is to stay in Bergamo - that was enough for me. We weren't sorry we stayed there for the duration of our stay. It really ...
