The see-through fabrics on spring runways were a bit more scandalous than those that came out of the woodwork for fall, so you should have plenty of options at mass market retailers and malls in the coming months.

We've had the romantic catwalk rundown and now here are my picks from the high street. To make this look work without looking cloyingly sickly team floaty dresses with grey tights and chunky sandals.

Dipping your toes into the waters of the romance trend doesn't necessarily mean you have to cover yourself in fluffy pink frills, but as the above pictures prove, you can do if you want! Over-the-top femininity and romantic ruffles were all over the catwalks...

Pairing brights with denim or black is a bit too tried and tested, so you know those safari shorts we featured yesterday? Try them with brights it's far more modern. My favourite bright is coral, it looks great with grey, lemon yellow, khaki and navy so it's far more versatile than you might think.

This week ShinyStyle and its U.K. sister-site Catwalk Queen are bringing you the best spring trends, and we're starting you off with one of our favorites.
Nautical is nothing new, but there is something new in nautical.

Gemma picked out some great safari looks from the catwalk earlier today but what about putting it together in an outfit? Safari is such a classic look its best to keep things simple and a safari shirt-dress is a great way of getting the look.

Much like its nautical sister, the safari trend has a habit of showing its face at this time of year. A stalwart of designers creating looks for more mature women, the look has been sexed up for a younger market this season as designers like Proenza Schouler and Preen have added their unique touches to the look. Your standard basic is a pair of safari shorts, which are slouchier than the city shorts of old, thus bit easier to wear ...

Isabelle's already shown you catwalk and designer takes on this season's floral trend, but it's up to me to raid the high street for affordable options. The hardest job has been picking which ones to feature, but I think I've bought you a good sample with these options. From graphic and structured at French Connection to girly and ethereal at Oasis, the high street have got florals covered...

There are such a wide range of floral prints about if you go for this trend you'll be spoilt for choice. The key with making florals feel fresh is to mix and match and go for something that feels individual rather than a straightforward girly, matchy matchy outfit.

We've got an exciting week of trend rundowns this week, starting off with floral. This trend started off as a whimsical backlash against the tough-chic trends from last autumn with Scarlett Johanssen's images for Louis Vuitton but it wasn't long before Nicolas Ghesqière at Balenciaga had added an edge to the whole trend with his gladiator sandals and armour-like silhouetted outfits that seem to be all over the fashion mags at the ...

I'm in love with Marks & Spencer's 'Padstow Princess' collection. Named after the Cornwall town probably best known for housing Rick Stein's seafood restaurant (oh, and for looking this pretty) the girly range of blue-toned florals, spring macs and broiderie anglaise...

While winter fashion dishes out a healthy dose of tailored options, we're also witnessing a new kind of laid back style which can only be described as a little bit lumberjack and a little bit grunge. The usual 'throw it on' scenesters - Kate Moss and the Olsen twins - are simply eating up this trend which had a recent spell on the London catwalks at Luella's spring/summer '08 show....

It's time to swap the cardi for a much more tailored alternative - the tuxedo blazer. It's a stylish option to throw over a shirt, blouse, vest or waistcoat and keep the chill off. It's also versatile - wear it to the office then bling it up with some killer earrings, a pendant or even a neck scarf to add some evening glitz...

Peacocks have apparently invested £1.5 million in an attempt to cash in on the blazer trend. Like the military jacket of a few seasons ago - which Primark had in all manner of shapes and sizes - this is a wearable look that's perfect for this time of year. The key is to go for a style that looks a bit too small, fastening only the top two (brass) buttons. Then add a tatty looking scarf...
