Kelly Osbourne says family member is HIV Positive

Kelly Osbourne says family member is HIV Positive

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and who stared in the reality TV show about her rocker family, revealed over the weekend that one of her family members is HIV positive.

The TV personality was speaking at a benefit gig for HIV support charity Body & Soul, staged at Koko, in Camden, north London.

Introducing a performance by the Scissor Sisters, she said the cause was special to her because a member of her family had been diagnosed with HIV.

Photographers present at the concert reported that Osbourne sobbed before leaving the stage.

This is a very sensitive topic and many people believe those with HIV or AIDS have a stigma, but luckily education is teaching people to not be so insensitive and more and more medical breakthroughs are being made by the hour.  It has now been 16 years since Magic Johnson announced he was HIV positive.  People were so uneducated at the time they thought he would be dead in weeks or months. I know everyone’s thoughts are with the Osbourne family during this trying time.
