High-end fashion label, Marchesa are famous for creating show stopping gowns for the red carpet, so it’s only natural that they’ve decided to create show stopping wedding gowns too. Georgina Chapman (one half of Marchesa) must have had lots of fun designing her own dress for her wedding to mogul, Harvey Weinstein because the designer has created a capsule bridal collection scheduled to launch next month!

I may have mentioned Calypso by Christiane Celle before, but it was only in passing and this stylist-cum-designer-cum-boutique owner definitely deserves to be in the spotlight! Born in France and inspired by the traditional clothing of Nepal and India, Celle lived in Manhattan and worked as a stylist for several years before opening the first of her many boutiques.
Her global influences are perfect for the ethnic-inspired looks of this season; check out the silk “Alexandra Jardin” ...
Donatella Versace took her dog along for the ride, as she made her way to appear on the Today show yesterday. We are lost for words.
The designer is in N.Y to promote the Versace Menswear launch at Barneys which also took place yesterday.
Call me crazy, but I periodically like to go onto the net-a-porter/Barneys/shopbop etc designer lists and click on unfamiliar names. I am forever getting emails declaiming the latest DVF, Louboutin, Balenciaga etc must-have, so I like to have minor excursions into the territory of a new name. I just noticed a new addition to the Net-A-Porter website called Alldressedup.
Immediately I wondered … is this exclusively a line of dresses? I was so disappointed to ...
I am a longtime fan of Marc Jacobs, and I usually don’t make any effort to hide it. If the man ever needed a kidney transplant, I’d probably offer him one of mine. However I have become just a little bit bitter toward him lately, and it has nothing to do with delayed runway shows or bribing officials. It has to do with shoes.
We all know that high heels can be really painful to wear, ...

It's just a natural evolution. You start by making handbags, then move into something related.
Kooba, the handbag that I could never figure out, went a little extreme by going to leather jackets. Botkier has taken what seems a more traditional path, and after providing us with all kinds of pretty bags, has shoes. The strange thing is, it's difficult for me to "see the ...

The lovely Melanie came to the rescue the other day when she posted a comment about the gorgeous Kenzo sofa. I couldn't find a Kenzo site anywhere but she knew where it was. Go and take a look his use of colour is superb.
I am such a sucker for all of these fabulous shades of blue that designers are turning out. If you want to get in on the color action, but typically opt for black bags, consider an inky blue like this one to get you out of that rut. The Tod’s Took Sacca Media Bag retails for $1,750 over at eluxury.com and is a perfect work bag. Like all things Tod’s, the handbag is functional, but plenty gorgeous, and ...

In my Fall/Winter 2008 collection titled, “Bride of the Black Moon,” I return to a black palette and with the use of luxurious textiles such as leather and lace.
Any last minute nerves?
It is always a very exciting time, and of course, a few nerves come along with that.

The Chloe Bay bag is another tale of designers getting a little overzealous with wanting a hit on their hands. While the bag is quite hefty, I’m loving it in this emerald version. You seldom see a green bag done this well, and like a white YSL Muse or a red Valentino dress, some things just look better when done in a certain color. The Bay has been done in several colors, including other patents, but this green is just ...
Anyone else confused by Roland Mouret’s repeated decision to show his last two ready-to wear collections during Haute Couture week? According to the Guardian, its because…“the spirit of haute couture reflects his values as a designer”.
“Couture is about savoir-faire and about quality, and that matters to me as a designer. To respect the traditions and trade of tailoring is to invest in the future of the world we live in.”
