Prada Fairy Bag - The Art of Fashion

Prada Fairy Bag - The Art of Fashion

This is not my usual classic but I am completely enchanted by the "Fairy Bag" from Prada. The artwork on the bag reminds me of Japanese Anime, which I was fascinated with as a child and even devoted years to drawing it myself. In fact, I have drawings that look very similar to this that I did in college! Miucia Prada has always designed to the beat of her own creativity ...

Big news for our US visitors: Shiny Media launch Shiny Style and Shiny Gloss just in time for New York Fashion Week!

I have some great news for our US-based visitors. Today is the official launch of two new blogs from Shiny US, our brand spanking new US blog network. Shiny Style (fashion) and Shiny Gloss (beauty) are edited out of New York and Philadelphia with writers stationed across the USA.

We can't wait to get working with our sisters over at Shiny US, and we'll begin with the exclusive coverage of New York ...

I’m loving the Maxx BP840 from Lori’s Shoes, but…

I’m loving the Maxx BP840 from Lori’s Shoes, but…

... they could have come up with a better name. They should take a leaf out of Lulu Guinness's book - how much better is 'Star Stella' or 'Hummingbird' than BP840? Still, perhaps they thought the bag was so nice it could speak for itself. And it is nice, but I think I would prefer it in a colour rather than black. I'm thinking a kind of brick red... or maybe ...

Dorothy Perkins’ new recycled totes give new meaning to the phrase “Rubbish Bags”

Dorothy Perkins’ new recycled totes give new meaning to the phrase “Rubbish Bags”

These unusual tote bags are "Rubbish Bags"by name, but they're actually "rubbish bags" by nature, too - and I mean that in the nicest possible way. They're made from rubbish collected by a cooperative of Filipino women, who then sort and sanitize the cartons and packets collected, and either weave or stitch them into these handbags. Not only are they eco-friendly, the workers are also helping to clean up their neighbourhoods, and with all ...

Be lucky with a ‘Born Lucky’ clutch bag

Be lucky with a ‘Born Lucky’ clutch bag

Not being a particularly girly girl, I struggle a bit with clutches - I'm much more comfortable with a chunky great handbag, but I do love this 'Born Lucky' clutch from Lux De Ville at (my new favourite site) Pin Up Girl Clothing. Yes, it's pink, but it's also studded and a great shape (I particularly love the handle) and size (12x7x4"). It costs $38.

Bid on Eva Mendes BCBG Max Azria handbag at Clothes Off Our Back

Bid on Eva Mendes BCBG Max Azria handbag at Clothes Off Our Back

We've mentioned US charity auction site, Clothes Off Our Back, once or twice before, and now they've got actress Eva Mendes' BCBG Max Azria handbag in their (now defunct) Jane Magazine "Naked" Issue Auction. The current bid stands at $50, but you won't be surprised to hear the reserve's not met. And is it just me or does that bag look a little well-loved... The auction closes on the 6th August. ...

Love bags? Love cake?

Love bags? Love cake?

Now these aren't exactly bags, but they're so fabulous I had to share. They are genius cake designer Rachel Mount's vintage 1950s handbag cakes. Rachel also has shoe cakes that I'm sure the Shoewawa girls will drool over and a range of designs that'll make your mouth water *and* have you gasping in admiration. Some people are just too talented, aren't they.
