Maps

By Wendy Hopkins

I am a map freak.

Not a freak in a bad sense, if there is a bad sense of being a map freak. But, nonetheless, a freak about maps. I have them covering every wall in my office. Some I own are neatly folded in a file cabinet, so that I may get them out whenever I have the desire to get giddy about what I forgot I had.

Romantic Movie: Mamma Mia! Review and Trailer

Suggested by Oksana

Variety.com may call it a “predictably glossy” screen adaptation of an Abba-scored musical – but let’s face it. With tried-and-tested stars like Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard and Pierce Brosnan on the cast – who wouldn’t want to sing along with the classic Abba songs – which will literally give you a case of the Last Song Syndrome? Not to mention the fact that newcomer Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper are an eyecandy couple whose marriage the story revolves around. It’s a musical about love, laughter and friendship which deserves a spot on our list.

Enjoying Your Home

By Tokie Laotan

Making things for your home can be quite thrilling. Learning any manageable skill required to paint a box or stitch a cushion or quilt requires total concentration, and the complete absorption of creating something unique and close to your heart. And for some very exhilarating reason, will also make your troubles diminish. Professional craftspeople have their moments when the rent is due, but as a tribe they exude the quiet confidence of people who have discovered the secret of life. Whatever mysterious human need is satisfied by making things, the effect is rewarding.

The Top 10 Signs You Need a New Car

The Top 10 Signs You Need a New Car

Edited by Tania Fedio
When people see your car and begin to reminisce about the “good old days,” you might think it’s time to either trade-up or move out of the neighborhood, but just because your ride may not be the shiniest sportster on the road and has probably seen better days, if it still gets you where you want to go and the only real problem seems to be what you’re friends think, it may be worth hanging on to – especially if you’re strapped for cash or don’t want to take on the burden of monthly payments.

On the flip side though, let’s face it – if the city bus gets you to work faster than your car can, The 15 minute Jiffy Lube needs to keep your car for 3 days or your passengers have to hold on to a toggle strap or bungee cord for dear life just to keep the door shut, it’s probably time for something new.

A War of Women by Susan Wingate

After writing a multitude of short stories and three novels, it seems to me that women-in-conflict is a subject matter that interests me. Each of my books has two female characters central to the story’s theme and usually those two females are at odds with each other. “Bobby’s Diner,” my latest release, shows two unrelated women in conflict with a man at the center of their ire.

How Is It Fair…?

How Is It Fair…?

By Lynn Cull

Hello everyone. My name is Lynn and I am the mother of two beautiful daughters ages eight and three. My eight year old recently came to me with the desire to play softball. So, one day after school I took her up to the local park get some information on try outs. Much to my surprise there were no try outs. All she had to do was sign up. No one knew what her strengths and weaknesses were so how were they supposed to know what position to play her at? Well, she wanted to play so I signed her up.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager

The Secret Life of the American Teenager

By DaJohn Ross

I watched the last episode for “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”. If you haven’t watched any episodes, you are completely missing out. You have the common jock, who is trying to get his girlfriend, the Catholic Cheerleader Grace, to sleep with him. You have the girl-next-door, Amy, that sleeps with the schools sexy boy whore Ricky. Ben is the boy in love with the girl next door, oh puppy love. Lastly, the school slut, Adrian, wants no one to have Ricky. Check out the next season!
