California is known for implementing a lot of laws. Just recently, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that a new legislation banning trans fats will take effect in 2010.
The law aims to ban restaurants and food retailer from using trans fats. Trans-fats are actually vegetable oils which are chemically altered so that processed foods can be given a longer shelf-life. They are also the number one culprit to coronary heart disease.
This is actually good news for all the restaurant aficionados out there. If there’s a law which bans the use of oils which can actually clog your heart in the long run - then you will feel less guilty when going out to dinner because you’re too lazy to prepare a home cooked meal.
FYI: The state is also planning to ban ‘caged hens’. What the heck is up with this state and their fixation with unnecessary laws?

I am all about healthier lifestyles but the ban might be towing the line…how about incentive based programs?
