I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We went to the beach and strolled around on the pier. It was strange to see little kids riding the waves. Even though it was windy the air was warm. Ahhh…the smell of seaweed instead of tinsel!
Afterwards we went home and ate a roast dinner consisting of veggies, a tofu-style roast beef, and cranberry sauce. I wonder how many families pulled out a can of cranberry sauce and just laid it on a plate the way if was. It never occurs to me to slice or mash the stuff up!
Mr. Mogul, sticking to his English holiday tradition, put all the leftovers together and made Bubble and Squeak for today’s breakfast. These are patties made up of the leftover food. I know it sounds like barf but it really tasted good this morning. Here is an idea of what is should look like.
The baby received a load of presents which is great considering he was just happy holding onto a tiny piece of wrapping paper. Most of the toys were made by Fisher Price. (I bet they’re part of the mafia!)
I watched a few movies as well. James Bond, a couple of comedies (Meet The Parents always makes me laugh) and today a classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Sigh, that film always makes me tear up in the end. Audrey Hepburn was beautiful and I was lucky to have seen her in person right before she died.
In all, it was pretty uneventful. It’s not like we visited a third world country and served Christmas dinner to refugees or something. I hope their canned cranberry was mashed up!
